Basically it is this pattern http://simplicity.com/index.cfm?cat=4&type=20&sec=52&startrow=1 adding the green diamonds on the front with red zig zag. You could do pink dress white apron with green and make a hat to go with it. To make a hat measure cut a large circle and add a band to it to fit child. Let us know how it turns out.

I made the strawberry shortcake outfit for my daughter for halloween in 1983. The patterns were through Butterick at the time. I just tried to find it (I don't organize my patterns like the others here  ) but only came up with the 21" doll and her clothing. (Butterick Craft 6173).

At the time they had red strawberry cotton prints in white and pink and I remember using that. I would have to check the costume rack to see if I still have it around.......hmmmmmmm......

I have this vintage one. It is size 2-3-4. I would give it up for shipping costs or equitable trade.

Hmm... I don't get it. Most images I've seen of Strawberry Shortcake show her in a sweater and jeans, with the big poofy hat and the short red hair. Except for the princess collection. But all the coloring book pages, etc, show the same blue pants and striped sweater and big hat. official website (http://www.strawberryshortcake.com/index_pages.php?page=chars) I'd just get a sweater and some jeans and put on a big hat and maybe make a wig out of a wide red yarn.

That is the new one. The old one has a red dress with a white apron with green diamonds on it. I actually had to compare mine to daughters. LOL Yes I did keep a few things. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Lot-Strawberry-Shortcake-Figures-Purple-Pieman_W0QQitemZ180022470255QQihZ008QQcategoryZ846 40QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I remember getting her for my 5th bday. It was all I ever talked about. My mom did save her and the strawberry shortcake dress I wore my first day of school, and the lunch box. I think she came out in 79 but not sure all my stuff says 80. I guess they had to change her style with times.

It brings back great memories. I still have every one of them. My grandma made sure I had everything that came out, she was awesome and I miss her. My 3 y/o son doesn't understand why he can't play with them...
I found some boutique outfits on ebay that might help...I can get the vintage type fabric they used for the hat in the first 2 pictures, our Wal-Mart still has it...

Here is another option. I think with the right material it would look very similar to the original Strawberry Shortcake.
