I'm ready to sew the cape but confused about where to start Pattern shows to sew from bottom to top, but since there's a nap, don't I need to sew with the nap? That would mean sewing from top to bottom. Please help!

No, sew from the bottom up. Panne will give you fits if you don't sew directionally with the grain. The nap will be fine.

Thanks Pam. I'll sew from bottom to top. Do you think for the shoulder seams I should reinforce with clear elastic tape? There is a seam on the cape that runs from the shoulder down to the bottom edge - if yes, would I use the tape the whole length?

If you do I would just do it from the neck and over the ball of the shoulder. I don't know that it will be necessary. You could also use a piece of twill tape instead of elastic. However, you will want to put a little extra in those seams with either a stretch stitch (if you have one it looks like three lines of stitches...sews two forward, one back two forward) or with a slight zig zag. This fabric has a tendancy to relax a bit as it is worn if it not sewn correctly may have wrinkles leading toward the seamlines...the extra stretch in the seams will help that.

Thanks again Pam. I do have the elastic stitch on my Pfaff and I'll use it. I don't think I will use any tape. Jean
