Thank you everyone. I made it for my friends daughter. They are going to Disney world. I will be making a set for my daughter in Halloween prints. I am finally motivated to sew. I am six months pregnant and this is the first time I have done anything on my machines since finding out I was Preggo's.

It wasn't too hard. Yes you do have to add the seam allowances. And be very patient.

I have never sewn an Europeon pattern before and had some trouble adding the seam allowances. At least, I think that was the problem. LOL
When I sewed the strips together to make the skirt, the ends did not quite match up. This made it difficult when it came time to hem it. It was kind of scalloped where the two pieces came together so the hem was not a perfect circle. I was thinking it should be?? :nc: I did some trimming and then turned it under twice and stitched.

Also, did you put the elastic in the waistband FIRST as the directions said? I did and it made it a lot harder to attach to the skirt. I am such a direction follower!!!
Creative is not my middle name! LOL

I am going to make another one this week using more contracting fabric like you did. I like yours better.:bg:

AND, last but not least, your skirt is not as full as mine. Did you use less material then the pattern said? I made mine in the 9 month to 2 year size and it is quite a lot fuller. At least it looks that way to me. If you would rather email me, that would be fine.

Seam allowance. I did cut at least the 5/8 all around. It was hard at first but I tried to go over than under.
The skirt is not a perfect circle it actually scallops around each time it meets. My skirt was probably not as full because I used denim. It definitely weighs it down. Have you gone on their web site? It gives more detailed explanations. I just order 5 more patterns from the company.

Molly,
check my post here http://www.banberryplace.com/forum for some tips about adding seam allowances.

As for the ends not matching up and having a scalloped edge, that's NORMAL :-) Yes, it's the way it should be.

My mother sewed the elastic. She is a pro at it. I usually will quarter the skirt and pin so that it is even.
