My daughter is back to college this weekend so I made her a tea cosy to take with her. She drinks a lot of tea and is into 1950's Kitch and likes pink so this was perfect.

She has sent photos to her new housemates saying she was going to buy a spotty fab teapot but there is no point now as the cosy is never coming off the pot!

You can also see how much I look like my avatar!

Jan, I have a few of those that my grandmother knitted in the early 70's....think browns, oranges, yellows! And, they still grace teapots in my Mom's china cabinet. I think I like your colors better though! I even have one that is a lady's head/body, and her skirt covers the teapot. I bleieve it is from Spain -- another of Grandma's trips overseas!

Great job! Now I think I'll go have a cuppa myself............:coffee2:

I did find a pattern of the ones with the dolls out of the top - reminds me of the crinoline lady loo roll covers that people used to have (shudder). I couldn't bring myself to massacre Barbie in so heinous a way. My poor daughter was traumatised enough when she rammed Sindy onto her horse (Tiffany) and her legs fell off. I must be the only person I know who took Sindy back to the shop to have a leg transplant.

Chuckle, chuckle - Many years ago my mother sent me a gift like this. When she asked me how I like it I told her she had forgotten to sew up all the sides and it really wasn't colours that I normally wear. She was flabbergasted and told me it was a tea cosy. Every time I put a ski hat on I think about that tea cosy.:re:

Jan, don't massacre Barbie or Sindy....you knit the head & body!!! Of course, her head is a little floppy.....

I wouldn't want to traumatize anyone!

Sancin.....I remember finding the tea cozy when I was about 10 and thinking along those lines! We used to put them on our heads anyway, just to get a rise out of grandma!:bluesmile

Ha, Jeanette - I only used the term ski hat in my message because I had a senior moment and could not remember how to spell toque!! Before this I don't think I have EVER used the term ski hat! Oh this aging memory is the pits.
