I had been witing for someone else to mention this but I guess its my turn. The Fabic Mover and stitch regulator for free motion quilting on Pfaffs and Viking machines is out. It works off the actual movement of the fabric so is very accurate and not subject to not work properly on some colors of fabric like some of the others are.
It currently works with all electronic Pfaffs and Vikings made in the past 8 years or so.
At convention I talked to the inventor to find out when it would be available for other machines. He informed me that VSM has the exclusive on it but that VSM was talking about making it for other brands after the first of the year.
I can't seem to get the "insert hyperlink" feature to work (probably because I'm not too smart or it could be because it is overcast and I am on satillite). Anyway here is the website: www.pfafusa.com

Wow htis looks exciting.I went to the Viking website and looked at their demo video with Sue Hausmann, it is a little bit funny to watch. Saying Husqvarna Viking Fabric Mover and Stitch Regulator is kind of a toungue twister.
I am currently out of town but I emailed my dealer to see if they were getting it in.

I work at a Viking dealer, and we have one of these in. I love the Fabric Mover, but I wasn't impressed with the Stitch Regulator. But it could just be me. :whacky:

Tom,

Do you know if it will fit my tiptronic 2040. The site doesn't say anything about my type of machine but the one they use in the picture look a lot like mine.

When I got the email a few weeks ago from Pfaff after the convention advertising their new products I thought the fabric mover and stitch regulator were quite interesting. There was no mention of price of course and also prices are not mentioned on the Pfaff website but I saw a post on another forum telling the price (which I have forgotten) but it is quite pricey.

I saw the one when it came out on the Bernina. I'm not impressed. The bottom thread was straight, not like it's supposed to be, in the middle of the fabric. (this was in a Bernina, I LOVE Bernina shop. I however do not own Berninas...)

Klynne the fabric mover and stitch regulator are currently going for around $1,399 at my Pfaff dealer. They are in sale right now for $1,299 and if you have the coupon that is in their 2006 Oklahoma State Fair flyer that came out yesterday, the price is $1,199. It says the Fabric Mover will work with any Pfaff computerized machine.

Thank you Patsy for the info about the price etc. I am in Ariz. and don't get the Oklahoma state fair flyer but now people that are interested know the price.

Gina, yes it will work on the 2040. Carolyn I can't remember if it works on the Freesa. It will work if your power cord is seperate from your foot control cord.
This is nothing like the Bernina stitch regulator. It works off the actual movement of the fabric rather than a light beam. I can't discuss price on the internet but I expect that any dealer would match the prices Patsy mentioned.
It is "pricy" but talk to your dealer. Most dealers realize this is an item being purchased by an already good customer and will be willing to give you a better price. It will work on any current or fairly current Pfaff or Viking machine that the power cord is seperate from the foot control cord. As it is it won't work on the machines older than 5 or 6 years because the cord is wrong but it can be changed.
JoAnn, I assume your dealer is either Stitching Post or Express. I am pretty sure Stitching Post has it but I don't think Express sent anyone for training. So they probably don't have it.
