My husband was listening and watching me looking for my sewing machine manuel. Its my Bible. I took my room apart. Could not find. He finally came in and looked and found it just were it was suppose to be. Anyway, he took the manual and scanned it into the computer, downloaded on to a disc. Such a great idea. Now to do the serge manuel. Hope this helps someone.

What a great idea! But the way I operate I wouldn't remember the name of the file or folder. Somethings I have been looking for for 2 years.

Sorry...I'm one of 'those' people who keep books where books should be kept, in book shelves. (of course when you have as many books as I do, it's easy to keep them in book shelves:re: ):bolt:

Your husband had a great idea-now you have a backup copy!
When I got my Pfaff years ago, it seems like the manual had 4 or 6 languages on each page. I finally went to a copy shop and copied the most important pages, and enlarged them slightly. I cut out the english directions and pasted them into a "condensed version". Saved wear and tear on the manual and my eyes while I was figuring out all the "bells and whistles".

The manual does not need to be lost. What a great idea, especially if you are prone to knock over a cup or glass of something.

Brilliant. My husband is an IT guy so he has everything scanned and backed up on cds at his work. But I do have a small filing cabinet with two drawers. one for house and bill stuff and the other for sewing and product manuals. I just drop them in and when I cant figure out how to make rice in the veggie steamer, or remember how to get the new stroller to collapse I pull it out! But yes the CD idea is brilliant and if you can keep the cds somewhere other than home then you are able to have a record should there be a flood or fire. Insurance loves that!!
