Watched last night and was impressed a few times and was embarrassed a few times. IMHO Tucker's a goner............ Poor guy has a likable personality but is no dancer. (How many of us are really? Not me.) Lennie |

That is one of my favorite shows, and I don't watch much tv. I was quite impressed with Emmitt Smith (sp) Sara Evans, Monique(girl from High school musical) and Mario....um, I forget his last name. I didnt bother to wait for Jerry Springer.....SO who did you like last night Lennie? Can't wait to watch who gets voted off first tonight Debby

Lopez is Mario's last name. I thought Springer was FUNNY!!!! He was having fun in his own little world. Definitely better than "Rap Master P" from last years show!!! Joey Lawrence will win this year. |

I just got to watch the last hour of the show. Jerry Springer reminded me of George Hamilton from last year. Harry Hamblin wasn't as good as I thought he would be. Mario Lopez looked good. I really liked him. I didn't get to see Joey Lawrence. Love to watch the show. Gayla |

Debby, I too was impressed with Emmett Smith. I loved the comment about his dancing reminding the girl of her teddy bear dancing. What a picture and so appropriate. Who doesn't love a teddy bear? I thought he moved very well and really enjoyed himself. Most impressive to me were Joey L. and Mario L. Harry H. was wooden and I thought he'd do better. Mario is so full of himself but is so cute. Joey seemed like a "stand up" kind of guy. I might be rooting for him. I admire Jerry Springer for doing the show. Never have cared for him but it takes humility to get up there when you know you can't really compete. A good sport. I only ever watch the last 15 min or so of the Thurs. show. I guess they stretch it out to two night only because they can. Hmmmm, Tom Jones. I'm guessing Tucker then Harry but it may be too soon to look to next week. Also, I think Tom B. is just the best host around. What a likable guy. Love him on AFV too. Lennie |

I watched Jerry Rice last season. (cause I used to be a 49er fan...) I thought George Hamilton was a nut...(but then he's always been a nut). I haven't tried to watch this time. I tried watching Singing with the Stars and I saw Cheech Marin...that was enough for me..I LOVE Cheech as an actor, but his singing was better back in the 60's-70's when he was stoned, or pretending to be... Mario is just nice to look at standing still! But he did do a good job. Joey did too. Boy, does he look different without hair! Jerry did better than I thought he would. I agree that Tucker will be the first to go.

I agree with Judy, that it will be Joey, Emmett and Mario competing. I also thought Jerry Rice was great last year, I voted for him everytime. I DID really love Cheryl, the one paired with Emmett last season with, oh shoot...I can't remember his name either...must be my sometimers kicking in.... Anyways, this is one show I have enjoyed, and it's nice to chat about it too. Thanks to Lennie for starting the thread

You're welcome, Debby, but there was another thread I thought.......not sure. Too lazy to look. It was Cheryl and Drew Lachkey (sp?), brother of the famous boy band guy married to the airhead. I did actually watch the whole follow up show last night. Poor Tom Jones. He looks every bit of his however many years. Sounds the same though. Enjoyed the Mambo dancing. Those professionals are great! Never would have thought Jerry S. would need self esteem help................ Fun to watch Emmit again. Lennie |

Emmit Smith and his partner spent a week or so at my D's dance studio. They must have paid well because she put up a brand new lighted sign and is going to finally get AC!! You can see it when they show them in front of a black curtain during practice shots.

Yeah that would have been fun to see Nick Lechey on this season. He could have been another BOY BAND dancer in the making. Maybe next year they can get Justin Timberlake!!! Since Nick got rid of the excess baggage his carreer seems to be on the climb. The ding-bat blonde didn't know what a good thing she had until it was gone. I was able to watch a replay of the first show. I might be changing my mind about who will win. I want to say it would be Joey, Mario or Emmet. BUTTTTT their could be an underdog that really pulls out all the stops now that the first show is under their belt and just lets go. I like that Slim Fast is doing a challenge with "Joe Public" to help them get in shape. I could go for that one!!!! |

Hmmmmmmmmm, getting tough already, isn't it? I saw soooooo much improvement last night. I don't think Emmitt was as much fun. Harry was better but still not great. Shanna's pretty wooden. Beauty queen was much better. There are still so many to choose from. I'm still thinking Harry might go. The pop and sport stars (and Jerry) all have such fan bases behind them that I'm sure that helps a lot! Curious to see what happens tonight. PST, I'm the last to know......... Lennie |

My first choice to leave is Springer, but I think he will be on as long as George Hamilton....ugh. I don't think Harry did that well, or Sara Evans...but she has country fans keeping her going. NOT that I have anything against country, I love it, but think she should stick to singing...I vote for Joey as the best so far!!!!

I agree that there was much improvement this week! Harry was better than last although not as good as others. I think Mario tried to show-off by free styling the dance. Last week's performance must have gone to his head. I think Joey was the best last night. Should be interesting to see the results tonight.

I was glad to see the beauty queen go, she wasn't cut out to do ballroom dancing. You can also tell that the teenagers are not watching or the rockstar teeny booper would be getting more votes. She was good, so I was suprised that she was in the bottom two. As long as there are Springer fans there will alwyas be Springer, I don't care how bad he dances. He is more bendable then Harry is. Harry used to be such a cute thing to look at, now he's just scary!!!! He needs some meat on his bones!!! |

I was surprised at the result. I really thought Harry would go. He was so good looking on L.A. Law years ago! I think the meat on his bones went into his wife's lips! Ooooo, that was sooooo mean! I watched when they got down to the final two...just wanted to know who got to go! Not surprised of the results. We'll see what happens next week.

Okay, last night I was blown away by Mario and partner's performance. I agree they need to play by the rules but theirs was the only one that I got excited about. I can't understand why the judges liked the western themed jive so much. Didn't do a thing for me. Lennie |

It was kind of hard to concentrate last night, while watching my DGS age 4....I missed most of Mario. I did like Sara's jive and Joey is still my favorite.Monique is doing quite well too... What gets me is the judges are so hard on the couples, when it is the pros that are the choreographers, who are putting in the lifts that are prohibited, doesn't seem quite fair to their partners, do ya think? OOPS time to watch the result show...

I agree that it was a weird show last night. I think that it is the stars who are encouraging the pros to put in the lifts and "illegal" moves. It could be that the competition would get out of control and the other stars wouldn't have a chance. But last night's show was 90 min & tonight's results will be 90 min also. What a lot of hoopla we will probably have to go thru to know who goes! TTFN from

I don't know about anyone else, but I think they need to drop the talent,,,as if Tom Jones wasn't bad enough last week, the group Scissor sisters...oh my goodness...The other person that sang while the pros danced was great... I kind of feel bad for Ashley, last year she got Master P...who never even tried, and poor Harry, I think tried very hard...oh well, I guess someone had to go...

Do like I did last year and just watch the last 15 min of the show. Wednesday's are my one for sure alone night each week since dh does training at the fire station so it's easy for me to leave it on while I catch up on the paper, etc. Tonight is fun because I also enjoy Project Runway and the new one is on every week at 7. Luckily these are the only two shows I really don't like to miss and two shows dh can definitely do without! see you tomorrow, Lennie |

Wow Debby! I'm glad we posted at the same time and I didn't read yours at the time. It was only 6 or so here so I still had three hours to find out who was out. Wasn't that the saddest good-bye yet? I felt so bad. My eyes teared up and Ashley and Harry both seemed so disappointed. Jerry's there by the grace of his fan base, no doubt. I really loved the Paso Dublez (sp?). That whole performance was great. The Scissor Sisters were embarassing. Can't stand falcetto. I'd say 1/2 hour for the results show or not at all would be fine. Lennie |

You know Debby, that's what I thought but she's got that arsonal of country fans behind her. Still, I thought she looked like a wooden doll when she danced. There was no passion at all even though she said she wanted to be in character. Hey, I was wondering if anyone here actually votes??? I tried once last year but couldn't get through. I wasn't all that surprised. Vivica doesn't have the fan base she used to. The judges sure were surprised! Haven't cared much for her but I have to say she was very gracious after the initial shock. What a blow to the ego of such a Diva! It was a good show. I thought the SISTERS were adorable! Wonder how many brothers there are? I'm a fan of Los Lonely Boys but I don't think the song they chose was the best. Glad to see it wasn't another "has been" performing. And I mean it; talk your hearts out after the next show. I so agree! He really comes across as a decent guy. How can he host a t.v. show like he has for all of these years?? Let's not forget he's a politician so he might be blowing smoke up everyone's. I do believe the relationship with his daughter is genuine though. I missed the first half hour of the show last night. I have it on DVR and will watch it later. I loved Mario once again. Okay, I watched the first half hour and I think Sara will go. She's just too wooden. I don't see what the judges see apparently. Seems like a sweet girl with a lovely voice but she's no dancer. I loved Rod the Bod in his heyday!!! Not him, his music. Oh the hours I spent in the swinging basket chair in my bedroom listening to Maggie May, Every Picture Tells a Story, etc. etc. Ahhhh. Now he's just another tacky lounge singer. What a shame! You gotta know when to quit. Lennie |

Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants??? I think it would mean big problems for the show. No one would take it seriously after that. I have a feeling the producers are pretty nervous. "Willa the Thrilla" was doing so well but she's just not someone with a following. Boy, a loss on this show has got to be devastating to these folks. Jerry did look genuinely surprised and amazed. I don't think he quite believes it either and the judges must be beside themselves. Lennie P.S. Rod has got to get a clue and know when it's time to hang up the ol' vocal cords. |

Well that's disappointing ---- she couldn't have left BEFORE the results show so maybe Willa could've been spared!???! (I know I know, they probably wouldn't have done that...). As much as I didn't like Willa's whole "I used to be a bad girl and now I'm becoming a lady" deal (I understand she was just trying to address it to get more votes...), I still enjoyed her dancing, and to me, that's what matters. Ahh well... |

Wow, Lennie, how sad about Sara and her divorce. I never liked Willa that much, and I am sure the judges were disappointed to see her go as well.... but I sure hope Joey, Mario and Emmitt step it up,,,, lol because if Jerry wins the competition, I don't think I could watch the show anymore....

Hey Debby! I must have heard you while I was eating lunch just now! I rushed right up to my computer. IMHO a few points about last night's show. I thought Jerry's dance was the stupidest dance I've seen on the show (this season or last). The weird thing is that it's not even Jerry's fault. I agree, he should go, and fast. Buh bye, Jerry! The other thing is how very, very talented Mario is and he's soooooooooo easy on the eyes, whew! I do believe Mr. Lopez should win if you're going with the strict premise of the show. Emmitt still looks like a giant dancing teddy bear to me. He does as well as he can considering his bulk. Joey is appealing and his dance was pretty steamy but not terrific. And finally Monique; just where was the dance they were supposed to be doing?? I tell you, I do wonder just who is (out of respect to Mary) "more involved" with their partner than just dance????? I'm anxious for tonight too! Boy, Lionel Richie, where are they getting some of these folks? Okay, now here's something totally off the wall. I always have satellite radio on when I'm home and on came the song "Mr.Jones" by Talking Heads. I LOVE that song and thought THAT'S the song I'D be dancing to if I were the one dancing. What a FUN song!!!! Lennie |

Hmmmmm, not much to talk about. Guess the producers had to handle things the way they did to stay on track. Still say that Jerry's gotta go. I enjoyed Lionel Richie's "All Night Long". He sang great and that song brings back some memories......... Lennie |

I don't know if I think it was fair, they could have rerun some dumb show to fill the one night slot, HEY why not Tom Bergeron's other show LOL. Anyways, what if Jerry does decent next week, and then he doesnt get voted off since the voting will be for the two shows...I was very disappointed. I DID however love seeing Lionel Richie, I WOULD have loved hearing Dancing on the Ceiling, that would have been cool, don't you think? Guess we don't have a choice, but to wait till next week....grrrrrrrrrrrrr

But Joey must be feeling the pressure...he has to do really well next week or he could be going. Esp. if he is up against Jerry. I thought his dance was better than Monique's. I'll be disappointed if he goes before Jerry!

I will take 10,000 Lionel Richie's over Rod the Bod ANYDAY!!! Did you notice that rod Stewart has a ponch hanging out of his shirt? He was on Martha Stewart, the next day wearing the same shirt and you could see it haning out there AGAIN!!!! Guess all his EX's are taking his money and he's having to wear the "same 'ol stuff". I don't know if I like what they plan on doing with the votes for next week either. Someone who bombed this week could really pull it off next week with the 2 dances and really deserve to stay, BUT get the boot anyways. |

Monique and Louie need to simmer down with complaining about the judges...I understand EXACTLY what it's like to choreograph something and then have people pick it apart---but a SOLO!? This is a ballroom dance competition! They deserved to get low scores. It looks TERRIBLY tacky to be complaining about the judges in a public place (you know, like on national television). I may be biased because Louie freaks me out (he is SO very creepy!!)...but they're SUPPOSED to be professionals... I'm so disappointed that I missed the bit about the costuming!!!!! Tivo was recording something else so I had to watch it live...and I hate most of the filler bits they do, of course then I switched it back to ABC and they were finishing up talking about the outfits!!!! |

I am pretty sure it will be between Jerry and Monique who leaves tonight. I agree with the judging being high, HOW can one insist there are elements missing and the other judge give a 10> ? Go figure. Shame on you Lennie , for cheating LOL Getting ready to enjoy Martina McBride tonight...Cya after the show....

I think I was having lunch or helping dh install a motion detector light on the porch. I'm lucky that dh comes home for lunch nearly every day. Boy, oh boy, I was all ready for the show at 8:00. I had my jammies on and a big glass of white wine. Dh was doing some work on his laptop at the kitchen table when there was a knock at the door. (We've never had a trick or treator at this house so I was a bit startled.) There was a couple we've known forever (but don't hang out with). He's dressed as a pirate and she's got on a funny jester hat. He's got a shot glass in his hand saying "trick or treat". Turns out it's his b'day and he was making the rounds. Luckily we were one of the first! I rushed upstairs telling them I needed to put on a robe but besides that I had to get the DVR going in our bedroom for the show. They stayed for over an hour and I caught the last dance. Watched the rest of it in bed this morning since I was awake at 5:30 and didn't really want to get up yet. (Dh gets up very early every morning so I let him have his alone time too that way.) Good show and I'm just amazed at the standards that are being set here. These four are great and so driven. Edyta's costume was fabulous, wasn't it??? Lots of men drooling over her last night. I'm also in awe of how beautiful her figure is. It's really ideal. I'm thinking Monique will go but it'll be sad from here on. Mario and Emmitt are going to duke it out at the end. Joey's next to go. My predictions, ta da!!!! Am I a Chatty Cathy or what???? Lennie |

I'm gonna put all my eggs in the basket and say that Monique will be the one to say "Bye-Bye" tonight. Then it will be Joey next week leaving Mario and Emmit. As much as everyone likes Mario I think Emmit will be the one to go all the way, taking Moniques and Joey's de-votees. IF I'm right that would make Cheryl a winner 2 years in a row. Says something about the women dancers and how they are teaching. |

I agree with the both of you, Monique is probably going tonight, but I truly think she tried so hard, Louie was awfully tough on her, even the judges noticed. I did my part last night and voted for Emmitt and Cheryl 5 times I also agree that after tonight, it's gonna be hard to see any of them fail. Hey Lennie, don't answer your door tonight hahaha!!

Last night's show was so-so I thought. Willa Ford is not impressive. Hard to believe she's an Emmy winner. I saw the ad for the live show. They'll be in my area the middle of Dec. I think. Even though we new it was going to be Monique leaving, it was still kind of bittersweet. I think she did a great job, and it was nice that her Mom came out too...Are you serious that Willa is an emmy award winner? I think she stunk as a singer... .ugh. I would have to know who would be in the show before I would go see the live one. I really like watching the pros...and as long as Willa doesnt go LOL....I think next week will be tough for all, but it's kinda neat that they get to pick the dances and songs...we shall see.....take care all Fellow dancing watchers!!

I meant Grammy - not Emmy, silly me! I could have sworn Tom B. said Grammy or Grammy nominated but who knows? The stars advertised for the live show are mostly from last season and this season, Willa being one of them. They're all familiar faces. ONE NIGHT ONLY! Wonder what kind of a turn out they get? According to the ratings this show is only behind the big sports games and Desperate Housewives. Next Wed. I'll be visiting my Mom (2 1/2 hours away) so I'll be driving home when the show is on. I'll catch it sometime Thursday though. Feel free to chat away! take care, Lennie |

I say the competition last night was fixed...I just figured by the way the judges were giving out the 10's and 9's that a 3 way tie was coming. Now they can say it is truly decided by the voters!!! I'm leaning towards Emmitt and Mario. Joey is just a little too stiff compared to the others IMHO. For a while last night I thought I would miss all the competition due to the election results cutting in. But I believe that the station knew they would have the phone lines lit up if they nixed the dancing for the results! TTFN from

I sort of expected the result of last night's judging to turn out exactly as it did. I like Emmet and Cheryl for the winners. I even tried to vote for them but after several unsuccessful attempts I eventually gave up. I do hope that they become the winners. Mario is also exceptionally good, but Emmet and Cheryl evoke a special joy.Joey danced generally well' but seemed to be just escorting in his second presentation. I anxiously await tonight's show. |

Here I am, Debby! I am so ready for the show too! We won't know till tomorrow though. I bet it'll be hard for Mario to toe the line. I'm sure they're all thinking, "Let's pull out all the stops." but that may not be the right thing to do. Mario could cut off his nose to spite his face. I don't see Emmitt doing that. He'll play by the rules........ I can't say I have a favorite. I do enjoy Mario's dancing more than Emmitt's. He just doesn't have the dancer's fluidity. Not his fault - he's just too big. I find it hard to cheer for Mario too much though. His arrogance puts me off. Hmmmmmmmmm~~ I probably won't check in till later tomorrow. I've got Superior Court Jury Duty. The courthouse is an hour away and I have to be there at 8:00 a.m. Hopefully they'll be done with us early.. but then I have major grocery shopping to do. My cupboards are bare... till then, Lennie |

I voted for Emmitt and Cheryl. Sure hope they win. Can't wait till tonight. Wish they had a site like Big Brother did so you would know what is going to happen. No patience |

Okay guys, it's 4:45 p.m. my time. This is just too unfair! I'm here in the same time zone as the show but I have to watch it on tape delay and so many of you get to see it live! I got sprung from jury duty at 12:00. They called about 50 names but not mine! Yay! After last night I'm really hoping for Emmitt and Cheryl to come away as champs. I especially loved Emmitt's "You Can't Touch This!" How fun! What a coup for Cheryl if she wins two times in a row! Also, what was with all the kissing between Mario and Karina???? Was that for real or just for show?? Catch up with you guys later ~~ and I do mean it! I'll peek after the show's over here. Really! Lennie |

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH I think the best team won. I loved Emmitt and Cheryl's MC Hammer dance for the freestyle. Hmmmmm now I only have one tv show that I watch, Extreme Home Makeover,,,guess I will have to find something to do on Tues and Weds nights LOL Cheryl should be very proud, they did a fantastic job... Rah! for Emmet and Cheryl. I am happy for them both: particularly for Cheryl as the trainer of two winners in a row. I feel somewhat sad for Mario though; I think that he also won. |

I'm happy for them too, but I voted for Mario. I think he's the better dancer.

Whoo Hoo! It's 9:04 and the show just ended. I'm thrilled that Emmitt won but I too think that Mario is the better dancer. What a fun show! Do we now have to wait for Sept. for the new season??? That would be too much. I didn't peek, I swear. Wonder what's going on with everyone now. A party? Great to see Sara Evans there. Hope she's doing okay. Lennie |

Hi everyone! I read a few days ago that Fergie, Duchess of York fame and Weight Watchers, will be on the next show. Anybody hear of any others that will be joining the show? Anyone know when the show starts again?? Boy, with this show and Project Runway gone for the season t.v. sure is boring............. Lennie |

Hey Lennie, where did you hear about Fergie being on Dancing with the stars? I sure DO miss that show. I work at a local high school as a cafeteria manager, and one of the teachers and I talk about the show, and how much we miss it too. I told her about your hearing that and she said to let her know when you hear who else...LOL

Hey Debby, I got it from the San Diego Union Tribune, our paper. I'm thinking it's pretty reliable. Haven't heard anything else about the show. Funny that it would start again in March. That would be great. I imagine it'll be around for a while. It was the #2 rated show. Also, I'm thinking the more popular the show is the bigger stars it will attract........ We'll have to see. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070221/ap_en_ot/tv_dancing_with_the_stars I'm not too excited about it although I'm sure it'll be wonderful and I'll come to care about some of these folks a great deal. Guess Fergie was just a rumor. Heather Mills sure is a surprise. I haven't had a very nice impression of her at all. What a strange thing for her to be doing at this time when there's so much talk about her and Paul. Weird. Apollo is beautiful and there are several athletes again. March 19th is it! Lennie |
