ROFL That was when it was clean and uncluttered. I'll post another view of it on the other side of the room. I have a cutting table on the other side of the room and on the other wall I have my serger with some shelves. It's very cluttered right now my neighbor has some of her things over here and I need to get her to take her things home. The room is really not that big it's 16 X 10 but on the 16 measurement I have 2 feet of closet. This is one of my spare bedrooms I turned into my sewing room. This trailer is not that small it's 16 X 80 but the only thing about it is there is no where to store things. I have to get Raymond to build me a storage room to move some of this stuff out of here so I can work. My stash is getting bigger and bigger everyday. I really have to keep away from the fabric stores until I can make something out of the fabric I've added to my stash since the storm. If you remember I saved all my sewing stash and my machines. I lost very little in the sewing department because I knew those were the things that would be hard to replace if we did lose everything. I know what's important in my life.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I wouldlove to have a room that big! My room is 9x11. & I share it with DH's desk. I do have a walk in closet in that room for stash storage but it is also the enterance into the attic so if he needs to get up there everything needs to move. As soon as another kid moves out I get to move.

I guess the more room you have the more you need. I'm beginning to get cramped so I better get to sewing so I can make room for more fabric. I went today and bought another 20 fat quarters but my friend and I split this one so it's not so bad. We are making the Dear Jane quilts anyone heard of those? They are pretty and she said they are fun to make. Thanks for all the whaa whoos on my sewing room I'm proud of it considering what we have been through these last few months. At least I have a place to call home. Some are still in those little travel trailers and I thank God I don't have to have one that small now. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Susie, can I have your sewing room? It's larger than mine. Mine's only 9' x 9'. You are so right. The more space, the more you find to put in it. A little over a year ago, I added shelving in my closet and took pictures after I put all my fabric on the shelves. Today I found those pictures. Back then space was available between the fabric and the shelf above.....but not any more!!! Enjoy your room. TTFN from

I guess the more room you have the more you need. I guess so Susie. I got moved into mine and Patty (22) came over, took one look and said, "This is great. You've got room for more stuff." So now I need more stuff. Dorothy |

I wish I could sell our property in Chalmette so I can get started on our new house. Instead of a two car garage he's making that space my sewing room. Can you imagine how big that is? Wow!!! I'll be able to put a long arm quilting machine in there. One step at a time. I'm still trying to talk him into a Little Gracie and the new Janome 6600. Anyone have that machine, the 6600? I was trained on this machine for the embroidery and quilt conference. It's a nice machine for the price.

Dorothy.....I said you had room for more "stuff"..... let me translate ...................You have room for ME to play in your sewing room and NOT be in the way! but then again, if you want to put some more fabric in there, it is okay with me and there is definitely lots of room for it! Patty

I did put more fabric in there this weekend, Patty. Not much, but some. Hey -- I think I may have found a fabric store! Besides the Joann store. I don't have time this week to check it out but maybe Friday. It is a mill-end store in Jamesville. I bought new shoes (had to after a skunk incident) and the ladies in the shoe store said they have fashion fabric there as well as upholstery fabric. Worth a look, I think. Dorothy |

They are not called "trailers" anymore...They are Mini homes There are a lot of "houses" with less square footage. Great sewing space. Kathy

Soooo Dorothy - I take it the fact you needed new feet was not related to the skunk incident? It's OK stumpy - you secret is safe with us - and the 12,021 other members.

Hey Dorothy....The mill end store in Jamesville sells drapery and upholstery fabric..... sorry, no dress goods. But then again, didn't Scarlet rip drown the drapes and make a gown? We could do the same! Patty

Kathy I like that new name. I'm going to have to remember that one. I was called trailer trash a few times in the past but EVERYBODY is in trailers now down here ROFL I love it!!!! We owned a Mobile Home park in Chalmette and my ex-daughter in law called me trailer trash after she lived in the park for over 4 years. I told her at least I owned the property, her and new husband owes the mortage company for her house. Mine was free and clear. ROFL

They are called "Manufactured Homes" Susie. My dh makes stain for two different companies that build "Manufactured Homes". He made the stain for the cabinets, etc. in one model that costs over $80,000.00. It is a 5 bedroom, 3 bath "manufactured home". Patsy Patsy

Patsy I went in some of them before we bought this one just looking. They are beautiful. Only thing is I would still be in a Manufactured home in a hurricane zone. I want brick!!! LOL On a slab with a safe room in case of tornado's. I'm chicken in bad weather. ROFL

I'm going to confess, the last quilt I cut out I cut out on my kitchen table. My cutting table was full of junk. ROFL Good thing Raymond is working nights, I had the table all cleaned up before he got home. As you can see when you have lots of room you have lots more stuff.
