This is my first attempt at making a tutu for someone besides my DD, who obviously is not picky. I made this for a little girl in her class that is having a birthday. I did this one with the loops instead of tying it to the elastic. Any suggestions/opinions? Thanks for looking!

Gorgeous! I just asked my four year old what her opinion of it was. She said, "It's PERFECT, and I want it. Can I???"

To heck with the 4 year olds! I want one.

It's gorgeous! I think you're good even up to 7 year olds!

LOL Lennie! Send me your measurements and I'll make you one!!!

Judy~I just looped the tulle round the elastic (make a loop, pull ends through loop around the elastic). The only thing that I actually sewed on was the ribbon bow. I probably should have put it on a pin, but I do not think she will be washing this. Thanks so much for the compliments!!

This is so cute! I would love to make one for my 4 yr old. I have an older girl that just wasn't into the "girly" stuff as much so when my middle girl came along she was totally different and I have had a ball making her a "princess" lol It's really a great piece!

That tutu is just beautiful! I recently made one for my 16 month old but it was an out of control tutu (8 yards of tulle and I knotted the tulle around the elastic). It's way too much for a little one. Do you know how much tulle you used? Did you cut it into 12 inch strips? I'm trying to figure out what you mean by looping it. I feel like such a newbie when I bombard people with questions.

Thanks for any explanations!

Wow, that's a great tutu! My question is how wide and long were your strips of tulle?
I think I have it figured out how it's done. Please correct me if I'm wrong. A strip of tulle it folded in half, put the folded part over the elastic and then pull the two strips up thru the loop?
Thanks!!

I just love it. My daughter has never been into dance so she has never wanted one. Too bad. I would love to make one of those for her. You did a great job!

For those that asked....I used 4 yards of tulle, and cut it into 4-6 inch strips with my rotary cutter. Then I just made a loop out of each strip and pulled the end pieces back through the loop around the elastic to attach. Let me know if that answers your question. I will be making another one later this week for dd's Halloween costume and can take pics as I go along if needed. Have a great week!

Hi:
Yes, please post pictures. I'm being brain impaired over this looping business. I can't seem to figure it out. I've always knotted around the elastic but then it gets so puffy.
