For the first time since Katrina I felt like I could possible be home. We went to my sons today for my granddaughters 2nd birthday party. While we were there my oldest son that lives in Chalmette still and the only son that is not living out here close to us came to the party. He was talking to his Dad and told him he was thinking about getting out of Chalmette and opening a shop up here he's a diesel machanic. Well as things went along we left the party and came back home with my oldest son and his new girlfriend. We went to a little restaurant out here and after stuffing myself with dungenous crabs I got up to go to the ladies room to wash my hands and I saw a familiar face sitting at a table and she jumped up and ran over to me and grabbed me and hugged me. It was an old friend who I hadn't seen in years. She lives about 10 miles from me. The funny part is she evacuated to Texas for the first week of the storm and then she went to the same motel we stayed in after the storm in Bastrop. She was there until Dec 1st. We were there until about Nov 19th when we left there for good to live here. I was shocked. But I got to see that familiar face I have been looking for all this time. What a surprise. We have been here almost a year and that's the first time I ran into her. I bet there is more people like her I know here and just haven't found then yet. Yeahhhhh I'm home.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Well look at you Ms Bren. I love your new avatar. Nice outfit. I have more good news. My oldest son was here today and he's moving up here with us too. Yeahhhh now I'll have all my kids close to me. The only ones that will be an hour away is one granddaughter that lives in Baton Rouge and the Grandson that lives about 30 minutes away but I can live with that little travel time. Can you see me jumping up and down. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Kath, I don't have to worry about sinking where I am. I'm 270 ft above sealevel and it's all red clay and rock. I can jump and jump and don't have to worry about sinking anymore. ROFL The only thing I worry about now is the lights going off when it rains and the satelite not working my internet when it rains. Good thing it doesn't rain much out here. The Corp better do something down there are there will be no New Orleans left. They are telling us that we lose a football field of coast every day. Wow that is incrediable. I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Susie, It good to see the "OLD SUSIE" coming abck around, we have missed her very much!!!! Now all ya need to do is get that Swimmin' Pool built and we will all be down!!!! If ya really need to have kids arounf ya to feel at home, I will send you my 21 yr old, he's driving his dad and I nuts lately!!!!! I'll even throw in the 24 yr old too!!!!! Bren, lookin' mighty sharp there lady!!!! I feel like a ol' bag of bones after seening that picture!! Hey Mo, glad to see ya over here every now and then!! Heck if I did any jumping here my house just might fall into a old Mine Shaft!!!! They are all over this part of the state, AND some houses in the Canton area did have sink holes start and take the house with it!!!! Mo only has to worry about the Lake Erie salt mine in her neck of the woods. |

Oh no Sewhappie, I don't need any live in's. ROFL My granddaugter came with my son today and she cried she wanted to stay with me until her Dad moved up here. Poor baby she really meant it too. I told her she didn't want to live with us old people, she would have to be quiet all the time when PawPaw was watching tv or sleeping and she said she didn't care. I told her to go ask your cousin that lives next door if he likes coming over here when PawPaw is home. She went off and never asked again. ROFL My husband is not a people person and if we lived in the woods with no one for miles around he'd be in his glory. He loves his kids and grandkids and loves it when they come to visit but too much of a good thing in his mind is not good to him. Me on the other hand I'm a people person and if I had it all my way I'd take in boarders. I love being around people and with people. I love taking the kids out and about to do things. I miss that so much with them scattered but now with this son moving closer to us all of the grandkids will be within a few miles of me except one and she'll still only be an hour away.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.
