First of all, thank you to everyone who answered my sewing thread question. Now for my next question. I am thinking of buying one of those Perfect Pleaters from clotilde.com. I was wondering, has anyone used one of these before? Is it hard to use? Is it worth me buying a pleater or just making pleats the normal way...marking and pressing (forever!)? -Danielle |

I have the original perfect pleater, the small 8 x 11 one. I've used it several times when adding pleats to items when my daughter was small. It worked very well for me and did save time if it was something I was adding my own pleats to and not necessarily part of the actual pattern. I don't know how it would work when using it to construct the pleats that have been included in a design already but I'm sure it's do-able. I wanted to get the boxed pleater that the site says is on sale but it is no longer available . I might invest in one of the larger ones, though, because I do like how they work. |

I was wondering how those worked also, I put a pleated pannel in a work uniform for dd#2 but did the pleats by hand. I was thinking of making a pleated skirt, can I do a full skirt length on one of those? Bekka Bekka

My pleater will take a skirt that would go all the way to most people's lower shin I think. Once you have that much of the pleat in the pleater it really shouldn't be a problem if it needs to be a little longer. i've had one since I started the business in 1992. I haven't used it as much as I thought I might but it is a really neat gadget...another one of those "Why didn't I think of that" items.
