I agree Debby. The more I thought about it the more I decided snowmen were traditional-I've been on line looking-have seen some possibilities-think I'll hit the fabric shop this weekend and start looking.

Welcome back Krystal! Glad everyone is ok!

Well, I think I have found non-traditional-at least non-traditional to me so we will see. It is currently in the dryer -hoping to get it cut and out this week. I'll let you know when I ship.

I wandered the quilt shop for an hour mumbling non-traditiona, non-traditional! My dd thought I was nuts! LOL

:nah: oh my you guys, i have had such a good chuckle imagining you looking for fabric for this, these chuckles have come at such a good time as we are in the middle of selling our house, or rather waiting for tomorrow for the conditions to be met as we have bought a house already, so we REALLY need this one to go through.

now watch all that mumbling lol

Boy the mail must have been flying this time around! I love the coaster idea and my niece's boyfriend is hard to do something for as we don't know him very well (they live in IA-we are in AZ) so the coasters will work well-he's very into hunting/fishing, etc.

Anyone know an easy way to make the coasters? I'm pathetic, I know.

I glue the material between 2 pieces of plexaglass 4 or 5 in sq. and wrap gold or crome tape around the edges. I glue the material to one piece of plexaglass, let that dry, then glue the other piece of plexaglass on. Leave it set overnight then wrap the tape around it. Hope this is helpful.

Hi everyone,
I will be sending my Fat Quarters out on Monday,

well, I 'm here I would like to know what people do with their Fat Quarters, I have never joined a FQ swap before so I really don't know what to use them for in sewing. I'm sure some one has an idea for a newbie to FQ swap. and I am ready for the next one.

Judy, I've used mine as charms in quilts, short ruffles for babies, backings for small wall hangings, potholders, etc. What does anyone else use theirs for?

I haven't participated in a swap yet (can't wait for Nov.) but I use the FQ for my daughters clothes. The stores up here sell them for under a dollar. So it is easy to pick some up. She is three, and so far I have used them to make a contrasting waistband to a skirt (with some left over to do an appliqued t-shirt to match) and ruffles on the bottom of her pants. I am just starting a new skirt where I am making it a patch work of yellow fabric and am using some FQ in that project to.

Recieved Judy's fat q today. Thanks. I've used some fat to make toys. The bug swap made a great ball-one of Jenny Beyers designs- for a special baby boy.

Ladies, I am so very sorry for not being around this past month. Right after I promised to send out SEPTEMBER'S swaps......my computer's power supply went kaput. And because I wasn't working, it was something that we had to put money aside for.

All last month, my oldest daughter had band competitions (she's color guard), and of course, I was one of the mom's that helped out with all of the extra practices, fund raisers, etc...... they placed 3rd in the state in their class (1A).

About three weeks ago, my husband told me of a clerical position that was available where he worked and encouraged me to apply for it. I went on an interview, which lasted about an hour (!!) and I went away feeling pretty positive about it... but didn't hear anything for almost two weeks. Two days after I got notice that my unemployment ran out, I got a call with this job offer! so I am working again......

Long story short, I am getting my power supply this weekend and I can access my computer! YAY!! So, all of you wonderful and patient ladies who have been waiting on a fat quarter from me will be getting it next week. Those in September AND October! I just needed to get the addresses.....

I hope everyone is doing well. I plan on being a little more active once my computer is up and running. I've missed coming around and reading and posting.

Please let me know when you receive your FQ's!!

Hugs all around......
