Im trying to find a stitch other than blanket stitch to go round some material. Ive got 2 pieces of fabric, one felt, one a bit like calico and Id like to sandwich some wadding between them and sew round the edges, so itl end up looking a bit like a pin cushion. Ive tried my overlocker, the stitches look a bit big and alien, sewing looks unsightly too so I was wondering if you could suggest a stitch other than blanket or running stitch that could look good. Ive tried wool which is a bit bulky so now Id like to use embroidery thread. Thanks |

For baby blankets and throws, I use a 3 thread flatlock hem on my serger. Gives a satin edge finish that is soft. Happy Stitching! Marty It takes one moment to change a life.
