I am 77, soon to be 78. Been sewing, knitting quilting and crocheting all my life. Used to teach smocking and had my own store. Tried other crafts ie macrame, oil painting, tatting, with varied degrees of enjoyment and success.
Am currently into Lutterloh Pattern making system and will be making an evening dress, a tee shirt, a shirt/blouse before the year is out.
There is never enough time in the day !!!

Welcome to the group . Effie was my Mother's name. She loved sewing & quilting & hand sewing like embroidery. So glad she passed it on to me. Sounds like you passed on your interest also to lots of people. Good for you.

Welcome. Effie was my grandmothers name. And its a name we don't hear very often now. She also did all kinds of hand work and I learned alot from her.

Hi, I'm Bekka from Colorado. I'm 43, between my DH and I, we have 8 kids, 4 of each. I was raised in a family of designers/seamstress', so I have "always" been sewing and designing. I have 2 labels and hope for a couple more. For 10 years I owned a small shop and worked with 19 labels of other designers. That all went away 7 years ago due to divorce, BUT my now DH wants to give me back my hearts desire and start it all again, only this time I want to teach. We will be moving to Wyo. sometime within the next 18 months, just don't know if it will be Chey. or further north. Until then I will continue to sew for kids and grandkids. I have been using the Lutterloh system for 8 years now and love it. I'm very happy to have found this forum.
