Hi:
I'm trying to decide which machine to purchase. I've narrowed my choices to the Singer Futura or the Janome 9500 or 300 (not sure if that's the right number). Does anyone have either of these machines?

Thanks for any advice.

I don't have either but the Janome 300 is a pretty popular little embroidery machine. It uses a flash card and adapter that is pretty affordable and it has a nice stitch area, 5X7.

Janome 300E's have 2x2, 4x4, 5x7 and 8,1/2x10 (giga hoop...split design.)
Monochromatic screens, flash card (folder #5 ONLY 100 designs each card. Cards up TO 256 mb may be used, but only folder #5 will work.), Janome design Cards.
Uses .jef format...9500 uses .sew format. Largest field is 5x7. (also uses folder #5 ONLY on flashcard.)
9500 sews and embroiders...300E embroidery ONLY.

Kath how do you like your 6500QP? I want one I took a little operating seminar when I helped out with the conference last year and liked it what little I used it. Is the special quilt foot really all that good? I think that is going to be my next thing on my wish list this year.

You can't beat the Janome for stitch quality I have the 9000. But my 9000 was limited to 3.50 x 4.25 sewing field so I upgraded to a Singer XL6000 it was cheaper than the Janome top of the line but did a lot of things I wanted it to do. I love my Janome for sewing and I love my Singer for embroidery.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.
