Hi and welcome to the board. You'll like it here.

I'm going to put an heirloom monogram on linen guest towels this year. I also thought of "spa towels" or "spa slippers".

www.embroiderthis.com is a good site with lots of ideas for gifts. Check it out if you like.

My neices and nephews like scarves, hats etc with their names on them, napkins monogrammed are nice for adults, I often buy plain T's etc and embroider on them at times.
Bell pulls look nice for xmas decorations, you can make tree ornaments by sewing together little pyamids with embroidery.
have fun

Check out www.embroiderysew.com for some unique things.
Some ideas for you on that site: snow globes that you can embroider inside of, plates with space for embroidered designs.
Also a large collection of X-mas designs to embroider.

I've made some darling shirts and customized them for the specific occassions. My daughter got her masters degree and I made 2 shirts and a throw with different congratulation phrases. I also embroidered several of her scrubs and jackets (she is a Physical Therapist).

Also have taken herbs designs and put them on dish towels and made pot holders with Rosemary and Sage on them..Beautiful. Just made some placemats with bouquet of lavender tied up with a ribbon. Beautiful. Also small appliance covers for your coffee maker, mixer with herbs and other kitchen type things.

Throws are always nice. I've made them for relatives that were getting married, witht heir names, wedding date, double rings and whatever their theme was for their wedding. My neice just got married and her theme was autum leaves, autum colors....so I took leaves and put them on the sides...looked beautiful and she loved it.

I also made some box labels for my sewing things, like "Patterns", "Sewing Machine Extras"...so I don't have to open 5 boxes to find where I put my patters.

I've also made dog coats and sweatshirts with their names on them ( I have 2 Dachshunds...Dachsie Mom)...they look really cute and mine are short hair and get very cold in the winter and don't want to go outside to do their business. Pet names on blankets too.

I made my grandsons Tee with their last name and their number assigned them for their Dirt bike competitions...they loved them.

Hope this gives you more ideas.
