| Hi! My name is Diana Johnson and this is the first forum I've ever been on. I took Home Ec in junior high back in the 60's in a Chicago suburb where I grew up and taught myself sewing from there. It took me a few years before I did a set-in sleeve. The motivating factor was that I wanted to make my own wedding dress. It was a Belinda Belville for Vogue pattern. My hubbin and I have been married 30 years this year and we have three wonderful kids (28,22,and 20). At one point early on in my sewing experience I made a dress for the character of Martha Washington in local theatrical play. I also taught basic sewing to children in our home in Texas before moving to Alabama. Throughout the years I have done many different kinds of projects including alterations for 5 years for a local dry cleaners. I am now doing a matron of honor dress for a very pregnant mother. This is a first experience. This is where I need help from my new friends out there in cyber space. Glad to know this website exists. Thank "y'all" ! |
