Hello everyone, my name is Carolyn. Originally from NJ now a southern girl in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. We managed to survive Hurricanes Katrina and Rita will little damage and are thankful to God for that blessing. I am 51 and have a wonderful husband and 2 sons. My husband is as talented with his hands in mechanics and building as I am with my sewing. My boys are grown.. the oldest going to college will graduate soon and the youngest married and in the Marine Corps.. presently both are in Texas.

I have been sewing since I was 7.. taught by my mother but soon passed her in talent. I have always loved to sew and can tackle just about anything except making a clothing pattern from scratch.. something I never learned how to do.

I am an ex-chemical engineer and now am a seamstress from my home. I spent the past 4 years sewing purses and diaper bags for a local woman starting a business.. who has since moved on to mass production so my time is my own once more. I take in alterations, and sew anything from scratch that is wanted ( so long as I have something to go from). I have made quilts and specialize in T-shirt memory quilts.. my fabric stash will last me much longer than I will ever be able to use it up. Of course I replenish it often ! I also have an embroidery machine that I dabble with to embellish things but have not yet learned how to digitize designs.. maybe soon now that I have some free time.

I stumbled on this site and am glad that I have. I love to read how others would handle situations and offer my advice when it will help. I look forward to enjoying it in the future.
