My mom did the swirly skirt. They are not that hard you just need to add lots of extra material. And then lots of pinning so you don't have excess material at the end.

Very cute. I love the swirly skirts! Not sure my dgd would wear one though...she's more into jeans and fishing, camping-at 3!

The redondo dress is great! Love it in that format more than just the skirt style. (I need to get that pattern one of these days:re: Also the second dress is just as pretty. did you make the under shirt? If so can you recommend a go pattern for that style top? Thanks

She finally let me put them on. She has been sick and not wanting to try them.

Way too cute. The model and the clothes. I love the outfit with the jeans. I used to make those for my daughter all the time.

Butttt My oldest daughter has decided to protest everything I make her. Then to my horror my 2 year old is a little copy cat and now she is refusing to wear anything I make:bluesad: She even refused to try on a TUTU!

They look great!

I like the swirly one, and I absolutely adore the other one too!!! It looks old-fashioned, but updated and so lovely! Did you use a pattern for the underdress or overdress? If so, which one?
Great job!

Your dresses look GREAT! I love the way you did the redondo and Toile, well do I need to say more .... ;-) I love it!

I don't think the Redondo is hard to sew, with the serger I don't pin mine at all :-)

Corie
You are right the redondo is very simple. The more I do it the simpler it is. Even a novice like me has learned to make it.

I'm having trouble with mine, maybe I'll try not pinning it! I don't have a serger though, do you think it will still work? I keep getting little folds in it no matter how slow and patient I seem to sew :bang:

to make it a dress, did you add any at the waist? Or did you just sew the original skirt without the waistband to the bodice?

I actually cut it regular and then once I had the best measurement on the top took in the skirt a bit so it would not bunch. No elastic. I did pin the skirt with lots of pins.
