Can anyone help me with splitting a 9 x 9 design for the Ellageo hoop that does a 6.5 x 10.5 design. The hoops on the embird 2006 do not have an Ellageo esg2 hoop. Thanks Linda |

I know how to do the splitting but not for what you are wanting. Try www.flyingneedle.ca. Kathy is an Embird expert and can probably help you.

Linda... you might also check out Roseanne Berkey's site http://www.editingwizardry.com/index.html she also has a cd or dvd about splitting, so you can work at home and follow along, replaying certain parts as needed.... MO life is too short, not to explore

putzirwin, If you go into the hoop area of Embird you can click on the last tab at the top that says custom hoops. In that area you can choose custom and put in your hoop size which 9 X 9 I think would be 360mm X 360mm click on "ok" and it will then create that hoop size in the editing area. After you are though with the design then save it with that custom hoop size. Hope this helps. That should do it

Suze.. htat's not going to solve her problem... her stitch area is about 6x10... the design is 9x9... she needs to split it so she can do it in 2 hoopings... I believe the new version of Embird makes splitting much easier and you can insert alignment stitches too... so should be pretty simple to split and realign now... LInda... I'd check one of the Embird yahoo groups and post your question... they're are a lot of them... Absolutely Embird, Embird for beginners, etc, etc, etc,.... just go to Yahoo groups and do a search for Embird.... MO life is too short, not to explore

I'm sorry I misunderstood. If she right clicks on the mouse it will show a place where she can choose to split the design. If she slpits it and deletes one half of it and saves that part then without doing anything else hit the edit and then undo it will bring the first deleted peice back and then she can highlight the second peice to delete and then save that half. If you don't move the peicesof designs out of their orginal place when you take it to the machine it will be in that part of the hoop it has to be in to sew it out. Then print out templates for the two halfs of the design and mark the design templates on your fabric so they will line up. It should tell you where to put your needle to start the first designs After sewing the first half rehoop so that the second half of the design will sew out where it's suppose to sew out. I hope I didn't confuse you more, I'm tired and can't think. Try it on something first and see if you can do it that way.
