I have finally managed to complete my first front and back bodice slopers. However, the seam allowances are never right. When I stitch the two pieces together at the shoulder, they never fit together right. What do I need to do about these seam allowances? |

That is probably because shoulder seams need to be eased.. That means they would not fit perfectly unless you ease the back to fit with the shorter front shoulder seam. (there are sometimes notches to show you where to ease)

After the sloper is fully fitted, the seam allowances are removed. In many fitted patterns there is a dart in each upper shoulder of the sloper. These dart are often replaced with ease. pam

You also remove the darts. When designing the garment from the sloper, having the darts removed helps when swinging the garment to move the darts or adding princess lines, or whatever. When you trace it onto a perm. pattern (we used large card stock), you just remove the seam allowances and leave gaping holes where the darts went.
