I will be posting the instructions for the twirl skirt on the site this week. Until then, you can discuss here. I have to delete the old discussion, it was playing havoc with bandwidth. Thanks for your understanding.

Wendy, I am finally getting around to sewing a twirl skirt. I have a question. Do you think it would be better sew all the strips together end to end and then cut the tiers or should I try to even out the seams? BTW I am using one fabric solid color so the seams probably will show. Gina

Sews4Kate, I had just posted in the tshirt dress thread that I want to try to do appliques on the shirt, but had never done it before. Then I looked at your darling pictures and saw that you had done the appliques. They are beautiful, and really accent the outfit. Are they hard to do? Would you mind telling us how you did the appliques? Thanks so much!! Theresa

for appliques, I used "ThermaBond" iron on adhesive. There are many different brands, I don't know what is better than any others. I draw the shape I want on the paperside and then follow directions to adhere it to the wrong side of fabric with an iron. Don't forget to reverse the image if needed. Then I cut it out. Peel the paper off and follow directions to pressing it onto the garment. Then I pinned some stabelizer (sp?) to the back of the garment. I then used a small zigzag stitch to go around the edges. Make sense?? Wendy
