Hi all! I just loved all the creations done with the Redondo skirt pattern so I ordered it and got it yesterday. It looks pretty easy to do, I just have a couple questions, hoping those of you that have made one can answer. The waistband. The directions say to stich it lengthwise wrong sides together approx. 3/4 inch from the edge. Repeat below this stichted line. Insert elastic into the waistband. Close waistband and attach to skirt. 1. Stitch 3/4 from the folded edge? or the raw edge? how much further below do you repeat? 2. How do you attach the waistband to the skirt?? 3. Did you topstitch the spirals? 4. Did you stay stitch the curves at all? 5. How did you hem it? I'm thinking folded hem since I don't have a serger. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated! Any other tips you can offer would be great too! Wendy

I topstitched the spirals and a surged the ends to stay and then golded the hem. |

I used bias tape. I just love this pattern. My 2 year old twirled and twirled untill she got dizzy and hit the wall. Now everytime I have her try anything on she tries to twirl it. Do you think I can try it with Denim? |

Hello, I am ready to sew my redondo skirt and my 5 year old daughter (size 5) has a 22 inch waist and 24 inch hips (measured going all the way around). Am I able to use this pattern? Is there a way to enlarge it so that it will fit her in the waist? Or, am I confused about the measuring sizes? The pattern for the 134/140 size is only up to 20.5." But the hips are in the 86/92 size. Also, when you said you added to the part that makes the waistband, did you add that amount to the larger of the part of the skirt upper donut piece? I'm confused! Thanks for the help. I appreciate it very much. Julie <email address removed for privacy> |

I am still so intimidated by this skirt!! The one I made with some scrap fabric was a disaster! I'm not sure about the sizing. I'd love some clarification on that as well. I just might try to tackle it again!

Here is the site to purchase the pattern. There is also a forum totallly dedicated to European styles. http://www.banberryplace.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2&zenid=6f4f2bf8f4c9a59addc0000d2afea410 I also wanted to add the flounce site. http://www.banberryplace.com/images/fm_st/Redondo_flounce_instr1.pdf Catherine
