Okay...to start off, I have a Janome 300E..and I have the hat hoop attachment for it. I cant get the hat to lay down flat.......on the edge of each side, after its clamed, it wont stick to the sticky sulki and makes it embroider close to the edges..... So the Janome Lady reccommended WetSET stabalizer..and i cant find it anywhere.... Anyone have a place they get thiers online theyd like to share? Thanks! Stephanie May your bobbin always be full-

Stephanie, I carry "Hydro Stick" which is what Lorraine is talking about. If you can make it down to the store bring your hoop and I'll show you how to use it. I personally prefer to use a "pressure adhesive " stabilizer but I guess a "Hydro stick" would work just as well.

What is pressure adhesive? Ive never heard of such an animal! If I cant make it tomorrow, I'll head that way in a couple of weeks. I've been planning on making it down that way.

"Pressure Stabilizer" is just another name for the self adhesives that you remove the backing from and press your fabric down onto it. Your hat hoop probably came with some. One brand name is "firm hold". Sulky calls theirs "Sticky'. There are just a couple of little tricks that make the whole cap hoop thing simple but they are hard to explain on paper.

Sstephanie.. if you're going to be doing hats for business on a regular basis, suggest you look into a pr-600 or EMP-6... great machine, very easy to use... MO life is too short, not to explore

I hope I am not too late to be of help but maybe this tutorial will help a little. You might have to use the A or B hoop instead of the hat hoop though: http://www.geocities.com/artistaca/hats/hats.htm |
