Does anyone have a source for Fusible Hair Canvas? We don't have any locally and a Butterick pattern for handbags calls for it. Would appreciate any help in locating this. Happy Stitching!

I have been using Interior Decorating fusable interfacing on the purses that I have been making. Works out pretty good. It hold the shape of the bag but still lets it move easily. You can get it a Joann's.

Have you tried to "google" for the other you asked about?

I have tried searching the internet but could not find any links to fusible hair canvas interfacing. There is not a JoAnns within 200 miles of where I live. Walmart and Hancock Fabrics do not have anything very stiff so that's why I asked the question. Thanks for trying.

Is hair canvas buckram -- or the same texture? I haven't seen it in iron on but it wouldn't surprise me if they make it (actually, it would surprise me if they don't).

Dorothy, hadn't thought of buckram. Hancock Fabrics and Wal-Mart do not carry it either (at least in my community). I'll have to drive to one of the suburbs (about 30 miles) and see if the Hobby Lobby has some. I know that hair canvas is usually used in tailoring but none of the shops here will sell it to an individual. Frustrating :bang: I thought that I would try to make a handbag for my sister's birthday. Oh well ... on to Plan B.
Happy Stitching!

Can't you use something else of about the same weight and stiffness?

I found some site for the Hair Canvas, but at $25.00 and up and yard!!!!! I would find something different to use. How much yardage do you need for your project?
I could send you some of the stuff that I use and it works just fine in my purses.
