Remember my knitting?
Well it is finished (I ran out of yarn).
It is about 26 inches wide and 4.5 yards long.
I still haven't figured out what it is. Any ideas?

ssounds like a giraffes neck warmer! Ever thought of chopping it up into more managable lumps and serging it together into an afghan?

I am proud of you , I would have given up at 2 yards and declared it long enough for a scarf. Mind you 26" wide is enthusiastic.

Can you cut it into useful shaped rectangles and sew it together into a sweater - you will need to do maths. I haven't tried, mind you, but I am told if you do a couple of lines of zigzag and cut between them you can cut and sew knitting. Treat it as a skinny bolt of fabric.

Felt it? Make cushions or bags? Tea cosies? new blanket for Lucy? A credunza warmer?
love and kisses, Jan

Maybe I'll try that cutting thing when I get back from New York, Jan. I'll let you know how it works. It would make nice pillows if I could cut it.

I had to call my daughter's friend and ask her "How do I stop knitting."
After she finished laughing -- several minutes later -- I explained I didn't remember how to knit it off the needles..

A shrug is a good idea Mary - sew one end together to make a cuff, measure the length you want on your body and sew up the other end!

Hey Dorothy, if you want to try learning to bind off...here is a knitting site that has videos for the different techniques - basic & advanced.

Binding Off

PS...I think your knitting would make a great afghan. I'd fold it in half and sew it together up one side. Then it would be wider to cover up with and you could stick your feet in the end and they wouldn't pop out when you pull up on the afghan. :bg:
