Hello ladies and gents if there are any. I'm Peg and I'm from the UK, I live near a town which is famous for it's church with a crooked spire. I am totally addicted to xstitch, my favourite being samplers but do indulge in Mirabilia & Lavender and Lace ladies. One of the groups I belong to have a few members who quilt, one of these makes the most amazing quilts I've ever seen. We have just finished 2 SAL's of two different samplers and a few of us thought it may be nice to finish them as wall hangings. I have wanted to have a go at quilting for quite some time but not having a quilting class near me I hung back. Now though I see there is so much info out there. I was googling away last night and came upon this site, I thoroughly enjoy my online friends so I thought I would try and join this forum so I may be enlightened and pick up some really good pointers, will probably pick up some bad ones too but what the heck....lol Sorry to have gone on and on, btw I can talk for England my DH tells me! If you'd like anyother info please don't hesitate to ask. I used to make clothes and soft toys in the past so am not a novice at sewing but may need to ask some probably stupid sounding questions of you more experienced ladies. I alway willing to learn. I look forward to spending some time with you all. best wishes Blondie I believe in fairies and my favourite is my stash fairy

Hi Blondie! Welcome to this wonderful site. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure. We have another notorious poster, Jan, from England (just outside of Cambridge). She'll give you a run for your money in the chatting department! She's out of town right now so I can talk stink about her! Hope to see much more of you. It's a great site. Lennie |

Ignore her Blondieuk, we like having an international community! Welcome to the boards, hope the weather is not too bad up there in the peaks - my daughter is in Preston and has just had a horrendous weekend with her roof leaking. love and kisses, Jan

Welcome Blondie! Wow, you live in Derbyshire - what a dream! And we've got lots in common - I'm addicted to cross-stitch (and any other kind of embroidery) too... Stitched only one Mirabilia so far (the Petal Fairy), but I loved it! I started Celtic Summer a good while back, but decided to put her on the back burner for a few months - I just doesn't have enough time for my stitching to make her move along fast enough (plus with Christmas coming, I have a long list of gifts to make!) Anyway, you won't be disappointed here Isabelle
