Hello everyone. I am thankful for this chance to introduce myself...I hope I am doing this right. My name is Bonny, and I am 36 years young. I love to crochet, learned by myself with some books when I was expecting my only child 13 years ago. I learned to sew back in 7th grade in home ec class, and have been sewing up quilts in my adult years. I haven't sewed too much in the way of garments, although I did sew up something for my girl for holloween once, and made a couple aprons. I found this website when I was researching for my new sewing machine. Thanks for the help. I decided on the Janome 10001. So far I have finished piecing a quilt, but wanted to put that aside till my Christmas stuff was done. I will be looking here for some ideas. On that end I would like to make little jewelry pouches and put a little something in there for some gifts, I also want to make a table runner with my fancy stiches, and maybe a mantle piece for the fireplace. Well, that about sums me up. I'll be reading you soon! Bonny |

Carol, outskirts of Auburn? Hey Dorothy, Carol is a kid from the neighborhood! Bonnie, anything north of NYC is upstate for a NY'er, but that is a whole 'lotta' state. So what big city are you near? Welcome to the board. Be sure to drop by the quilting threads and talk about your quilts. And welcome to all the other newbies I seem to have missed. Patty

Hello again! Yes you are right anything north of the city is upstate NY. I live near Saratoga. It is really beautiful here. We get our fair share of cold and rain and snow which may be why I love blankets and hot cocoa! chat soon Bonny |

Well, Carol, you really are from the neighborhood. Patty is in Skaneateles and I just moved from Moravia to Syracuse but still cover Auburn and Cayuga County for a newspaper (feature stories) and the radio (government news mostly). Dorothy |

Patty -- I saw neither the fabric shops or the parade. Well I did see some shops riding past in a taxi. And we saw some children parading at their school in Brooklyn. We spent most of the time just relaxing with my daughter and her boy friend. We did go to mid-town to see where my daughter works. And we saw the court house steps you see on Law and Order all the time and Grand Central Station. And we wandered around Chinatown and ate in little Italy. It was great though mostly just hanging out. Dorothy |
