Mary, after reading so many posts from people who are either not in the mood to sew or just don't know what to sew, sure sounds to me like you need to issue a yardage challenge for after the first of the year!!!!! For those newbies here. Mary will give you a time frame to use up only fabrics from your stash!!! No new fabrics allowed once the date has been set and the contest starts. ALL FABRICS MUST BE FROM YOUR STASH!!!!! You keep track of how many yards you used on your project and then post it here. Mary, or who ever she has to do it, keeps a running tally of the yardage and at the end of the alloted time period there is a winner announced and a very nice prize, picked by Mary, is awarded. We need to figure out how to be able to have everyone post pictures of their completed projects. Maybe we could do something like Jo did with the Advent Quilt Blocks. |

Oh my goodness! I was just getting ready to bring up this very subject. I say we start now to get people sewing for the holidays. I'll host it. People can send pics to me and I will make a special folder in my yahoo photo account. Who is with us? Ideas? Who is gonna donate the prize? How about a prize for most items completed, one for most yardage and one for the most creative use of stash fabric. That way people who don't have a lot of stash can still participate and have a chance to win. Gina

Mary, Sounds good to me. Do you like the idea of multiple prizes? How long do we want this thing to last? The first one I participated in was two months. I think that would be perfect this time around as we have some people who will sew like crazy for Christmas and then slow down and we will have those people who will be too busy before Christmas but they will jump in for the New Year. Of course there might be a few who just keep chugging through the whole time. As for before and after pics of the stash they will not be neccesary (some of us have multiple stash spots and getting it all together for a picture might get us in trouble with hubby). Once Mary gets the prizes squared away I will start a new post with the rules. Get those stashes ready everyone! Gina
