So nice to have found this site - I am looking forward to getting to know this forum and am tickled to have found a place where I can come with my questions - whoo-hoo! (I found a link for this site thru Simplicity patterns website.) I am living in a rural area in Lake County on Calif.'s largest natural lake, Clear Lake. Have lived here most of my 48 years and have been sewing steady for the last 5 years or so, after re-teaching myself from my high school days w/my mom's able assitance. She is no longer with us and my friends do not sew, so this site and forum is a great find for me! I love to sew just about anything & love challenges. I mostly make clothes, but have also done my own doggie jackets. I just bought a new Simplicity pattern for a doggie "canopy" bed, so am anxious to make this for a friend's special dog. Course, I have many projects waiting for me - hence my "name" - Sew Little Time! My 90-yr. young father is now living w/my husband and I and I need to make some new drapes for his bedroom asap so I am going to look for the page here in these forums where I can ask about where to locate a heavy-type fabric backer to help keep the cold air out of his bedroom. Happy to be here - SLT |

Welcome to the site Sew-Little-Time. I'm betting most of us can relate to your lack of time to do the things you love to do! Glad you can join us.

Hello and welcome! I found this group from the same link! One of my favorite things about this group is that when you have a problem you get about 6 ways to fix it. One is bound to work. I love that pattern for the little canopy. I have a large male huskey and my husband would have a heart attack if he came home and found his dog curled up under a girly canopy....lol Might have to do it just for a good laugh. again welcome and cant wait to ge to know you better. Thank you all for the nice welcome - I look forward to getting to know you on these boards! I've been here only about a week, but have already received some great help in my linings for drapes to keep the cold out! Hi again, Miss Spring! I have to tell you that the doggy bed canopy I'm going to make will be in "Nights of Arabia" style, using deep reds and golds (I am an impatient person, so could only find the sheers in a dark red, so had to match to them) Maybe that could work for your "macho" Huskey, lol! I have a "terrible-Terrier, a mix breed, named Jake who wouldn't be caught dead in such a contraption, more than likely! I'll have to put his pic here by my name one of these days....so happy to meet you all! |
