Embroider This has silk charmeuse scarves on sale to embroider. Have any of you worked with this material? I'm afraid of wrecking it with the wrong choice of stabilizers. But it sounds so pretty and would make perfect gifts. Any advice? Thanks. Linda |

I'd use a sticky and NOT hoop it. (the sticky will not harm the fabric...I embroider silk a lot.) Try for 'light' embroidery, because something dense will pull the fabric and needing extra stabilizer will make a mess. (and add too much bulk...) If you can wash the silk, use a wash-away MESH on the bottom and top for some extra strength if you think you need it.

Thank you for the suggestions. I ordered an extra scarf so that I would have one to test my techniques! I appreciate your advice. Linda |

Chrys: I followed your advice. I used sticky in the hoop and one layer of wash-away mesh on top. It came out beautiful! Thanks so much for your help. It went so smoothly I got 6 scarves done this afternoon! You are terrific! Linda |
