I had a friend send me this web site concerning the magic eraser. I know alot of us use them especially if you have kids. I myself have been burned with one while cleaning somthing using it. I just want family and friends to be aware. Please read this story. http://kerflop.com/2006/11/02/chemical-burn/ Catherine

I was just looking at these the other day -- they say not to use with chlorine bleach, so they must have ammonia or something like that in them. It would be nice if they said that! I had thought it was just some kind of magical scrubbing material, not anything chemical. It does say keep out of reach of children, and that using on skin will likely cause abrasions, but then in their instructions they show a picture of someone using them with bare hands. Very misleading.

Thanks Catherine. I am shocked as I always thought it had something like baking soda in them as there was always a gritty residue left on the area I was trying to clean. Wow.......I too am surprised there is not more of a warning on the package. Patty

Do you think those things would take a turmeric stain of a gloss enamel wall? Dorothy |

They do work pretty well, but they say on the package that you shouldn't use them with high gloss finishes. I wonder if they might scratch the enamel? But if nothing else has worked, it might be worth a try.
