I thought that this was a noteworthy warning. I had never thought of something like this before. J Change your habit: This lady has changed her habit of how she lists names on her mobile phone contact list after her handbag was stolen. Her handbag contained her mobile phone, credit cards, check book, etc. Twenty minutes later when she called her husband from a pay phone and told him what had happened, hubby says "I've just received your text message asking about our pin number and I replied a little while ago. "When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff told them all the money was already withdrawn. The pick pocket had actually used the stolen phone to text "hubby" using the contact list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 mminutes he had withdrawn all the money from the bank account. Moral of the lesson: Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey, Hubby, sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc....... And very importantly, when sensitive info is being asked thru texts,CONFIRM by calling back! PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS..... Jay

I can barely use my cell phone...contacts in it ??? I have to drive 25 mi away from home to access my phone messages....I can barely remember THAT number either. But if you have to put your pin number in a cell phone, then you might was well tattoo it to your forehead. ( this is from a person who memorizes all numbers....and words to songs...I like to play, "stump the husband" in restaurants that play music... ) Kath ( the ornery, today....) Chrys

If my husband ever got a text message from me he would know something was wrong because I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Dorothy |

I actually USED my cell phone today...had to call my husband...I was at the car dealer for service and I was done early, so we ate out before comming home. Last time I used my cell was in Sept, when I was at my sisters...if I had to text message I'm afraid I can't (and I don't really wanna....I'm not tied to the cell phone, but I have grown roots in my computer chair ) Chrys

I was told to use the letters ICE (in case of emergency) for your emergency contact person. That will be the first person called if you are in an accident & the emergency personel have to locate someone.

If my husband ever got a text message from me he would know something was wrong because I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Dorothy We NEVER text, either, and if my husband thought I'd forgotten the pin, I think he'd take me in to see if I'd had a stroke. Jennifer in Livermore
