http://myspace-151.vo.llnwd.net/01257/15/14/1257844151_m.jpg Thought I would share a pic of my DS with his little girl that he found when she was 8 weeks old. Her name is Minnie and she is the oldest of 3 girl furballs we have. She loves to curl up to sleep with "daddy" at night on top of the covers and becomes a dead weigh so you can't move when you need to!!!!! |

She's beautiful!!!! and so is your son. I love cats but hubby won't let me have one. He thinks they are sneaky and will be on the counter tops when you are not looking. soooooooo no felines.
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

I do agree with Mary; your son and his cat seem like they belong to each other. I just love cats. I have none now because of my several dogs; I do not think that I can handle both. |

I'm with Susie's husband! I used to love cats until the one in my sewing room/office came for a visit. I haven't been in there since the kids got here with her on Wednesday and won't go in there until they leave on Sunday afternoon. That cat is just plain nasty and I am seriously afraid of her. Last time went to visit the kids she had me cornered in the living room and wouldn't let me out to go to the bathroom. At least it amused the rest of the family. Your cat, on the other hand, looks quite nice. I have a very nice cat that the dog enjoys tormenting. When I am very old I want to be a neighborhood cat lady. Dorothy |

http://files.dogster.com/pix/cats/18/147318/147318_1115693290.jpgMy youngest furball is a 400 lbs Siamese that we rescued from a terrible home. She came here meaner than spit. She would swat at us when we walked by, hiss and growl show her teeth. She would even try to bite anyone that went near her. The other cats would just ignore her, so we followed what they did and also ignored her. When she started to feel safe SHE started to come around. I would always talk to her in a calm voice, (she came from 3 screaming kids under 3 years of age) as I went about my day. I never looked right a her when talking, BUT always stayed out of SWAT and TEETH RANGE!!!! Now she thinks that if she stares at anyone (with the dumbest expression and BIG BLUE CROSSED EYES) sitting in the recliner that they will just get up and move so SHE can curl up in it and watch the house and all the goings on. She has the loudest purr of the 3 girls, loves to sit in Big Daddy's lap or curl up with him at night and sleep. That is when Minnie is not in the room trying to rule the roost. She is talking more and more each day and now is one big happy fat cat!!! If anyone goes into the bathroom she will follow, she thinks that that means it's time to be brushed. This has been a 5 year process, but it has been worth every minute. I would do it all over again to be able to give another furball a safe and happy home. |

Love that cat Sewhappie - a cleaner at work found 3 kittens by the road in a box, eyes still closed - she has kept 2 and is rearing them and I am 3rd on the list for a new friend at Christmas...(I hope someone drops out) I feel half-naked catless. love and kisses, Jan

Boy, the title of your post scared me! Your son looks just like a boy I dated briefly back in the stone ages. His name was Larry and his blond hair was to his shoulders and he liked to wear a tophat! Really a very strange kid. Pets are so special and teach children so much. I guess I could say my 24 y/o son has a 14 y/o boyfriend but that REALLY sounds bad! Lennie |

I wish the happy couple many wonderful years together !!! Did they get a lot of cat-nip and toys as gifts ??? My husband grew up with cats, in fact he woke up one night to one of the cats having kittens on top of him. (he doesn't recommend sleeping with cats ) I'm not a cat person, but I do find their faces pretty and I did like one on our block when I was a teenager..His name was Butchy...he followed you like a dog, he was pure white with BIG green eyes and was a big old sweetie..(he supposedly lived down the street, but he spent a lot of time at our house...I don't know why, we had dogs that didn't like cats....) I had to do a double take at the heading also (but you knew we would, right?). I grew up with cats also. My favorites, a Russion Blue, who was with me for 17 years and her son, the fattest tom cat I ever saw (31 lbs). Both gone now for many years. I am now a dog person. Callie, my Chocolate Lab, is 12 and suffering from hip dysplasia (nothing like having a 100 lb dog and a husband both down with hip problems). She's now having problems with muscle control. I'm having an emotional battle over what I need to do for her/twith her. She's my dog: up when I'm up, sits when I sit, moves when I move. She's closer to me than my shadow. We also have a 5 lb chihuahua (spllng?), an Alpha male. He's also very close to Callie. And people think it's the big dog you actually have to watch out for! Anyway, this made me think of Callie, as we had a bad night last night due to lack of muscle control and I had always told myself that when she couldn't conrol her muscles I'd have to really start thinking about making a decision. |

Since everyone is sharing their stories...I thought I would share about how special my Bud was to me. A few months before I got married, I was given by my SIL a cute little male kitty I named Buddy. It was the perfect name for him since he rarely left my side. I was QUITE sick at the time, couldn't work and was alone at home. He KNEW me. Knew when I was down, not feeling good or just plain needed a sunggle. I had never had a pet much less a cat since my dad hated cats growing up. He has since changed his mind since he has has 5 grandkitties now. My Bud was with me thru both my transplants and the healing after each. A few months after my last one I had to put him down. He had Chronic UTI's and was peeing everywhere but the box and was in a lot of pain. My poor heart ached so bad that day and just talking about it now is hard. I havent' been able to get another one yet! Even tho I am with Magot and feel naked being Cat-less. I have the barn cats tho!

Hey Dexter -- Where you been? Dorothy Mostly just working and continuing through my schooling. I took a few trips, such as to New York. Been able to spend a lot more time with family and friends lately, too. Life's been really good and now it seems as though things are going to be relaxed until the start of the new year. I'm going to enjoy the time I have as much as possible. I've been yearning to start up a new costume and I have so many ideas. My cat's the cutest cat ever! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v493/cosplaydexterity/Pets/feesu.jpg |

Aw I'm so jealous of everyone and their kitties!! At home where I grew up we always had at least one cat in the house but when I decided to move to NY it was hard enough trying to find AN apartment, let alone one that would allow cats, so nothing came with me and two years later I still dont have one. My office just moved though and there are 5+ strays that live around the area (there are little boxes outside on the sides of the building and I guess people must leave them food or something). So I get to see kitties walk back and forth all day long I'm in the process of naming them all HAHA! Maybe for Xmas my bf (doesn't like cats...but LOOOVES me!) will surprise me |

I want a cat but DH says no way. I think I have a wild one living under our deck, but I can't get close to it. I'd leave food out, but it attracts rats, so that's out. Everytime I see it, he stops, stares, then takes off like a bat out of he**. He sleeps in my catmint in the front garden in the summer though. Been around close to a year, don't think he belongs to anyone. I worried about him when it got so cold and snowed, but yesterday when I went out onto the deck I think he was sitting on the step and he scared the daylights out of me when he took off and knocked over the garbage cans. Thanks for sharing your pictures of your babies!!
