I have been having trouble with my back now for about 3 months.....I did physical therapy for almost 2 months and still had pain. My Dr. sent me for a MRI and this was the diagnosis that I received.

I have had issues with my back since 1999~taking care of my Mother really did a toll on my spine. Picking her up and moving her was very difficult in the end. ( she had breast cancer which she died from in April 2000.)

I am off to see a specialist on Thursday~just wondering if anyone has this problem?

My mom had it...she was offered surgery or live with it. She chose to live with it but was in pain a good portion of the time-she was afraid to have anyone operate on her back. Let us know what the dr says!

I have spinal stenosis as well as a number of other spinal problems and have had for many many years. It doesn't seem to matter what the diagnosis is if one has back pain. My stenosis is in the last thorasic / first lumbar area and due to an old compression fracture and my spine buckling over on itself. Old because it shows up in Xrays and CAT scan but I have no recollecton of a fracture occuring but am told in may have been in childhood. I have osteoarthritis at the site as well as many other joints in my body. A site with much information is spine-health.com as it seems to be objective and professional (ie. not selling anything including specific practioners). I have found many of the alternate health practices very helpful. ImmuneSupport.com seems like a strange name but is a good site for pain control techniques.

Good luck in finding some relief.

Thanks for the websites!! I will check them out for sure!
Did go to the Dr and will be having steroid injections done on the 10th.
Dr. said that I'm too young to have surgery on my back~and I agree!!! I am hoping that the shots do the trick!
He did give me some pain medication and that seems to make me wired  I go to sleep then about 2 hours later I'm wide awake!! ( I have got a few crochet goodies done though~ )
I wouldn't wish this on my worse enemy! The pain I have in my low back and hips is almost enough to make me want to stay in the bed!!
I will let ya'll know how the shots go!
mgf~
