Dear Santa:

I have been good all year. I think I need a few things for my sewing habit. On my list are the following:

Nothing for me but maybe a stash of thread and interfacing. I have enough fabric to sew for at least another year.

Maybe you could get him to buy you some time - an ironing lady or cleaner a few hours a week. Then you just need to make sure that the extra time gets spent on sewing.

I can't think of anything sewing related this year. I asked for my kitchen faucet fixed (it leaks) My DH wants to redo the kitchen & bathroom. (they both need it bad). We don't have enough money to do it all so I will probably just get the bathroom & the kitchen sink/counter this year.

I would like my energy and my 'drive' to get things done back....I don't know where it went, but it went last yr.
( I used to be a speed demon at getting things done, now I don't do anything...)

My husband even offered me a new sewing/embroidery machine for my birthday...I said no...I thought he was going to fall over...he was shocked.

My wish list is short. I've been good all year. I only want 1 thing. That's all. Just 1. :dave: It could be a Pfaff 2029, or a Pfaff 2056, or a Pfaff 2048, but I want a Pfaff!! That's not too much to ask for, is it? When I mentioned it to DH, he suggested maybe we could trade in our 2 Maltese girlie dogs on a machine. :nc: NOT!! Oh, well. We'll see. Christmas is a bit away, yet!! Hope you all get your wishes!

I would love to have my son's room cleaned out so I can have a sewing/quilting room. He is away at school now and will be getting married this coming summer, so I don't think it's too much to ask for.:bluewink:

I think I'll give myself the same thing this year that I gave myself last year. And that was permission to take any and all sewing classes that I wanted to take. I took so many classes last year after getting my new machine that I have just had a ball and really learned some new stuff and in some cases "relearned" what I had forgotten way back in the dark ages of Home Ec. And this year, I'll even be teaching some classes on wearable art, so that should be even more fun.....!!

It must be a family tradition, my dad was still taking college courses in his early 80's.

...I want everyone in my family to be healthy.

Would it be too much to ask Santa to give all of them a sense of humor too?

and then, since I'm on a roll asking for things, I'll mention everyone wanting the World Peace thing.

Reindeer pie?
Caribou hock soup?

I quite fancy a new body (the type I can stick pins into)

and of course, World Peace.

(we don't 'do' Santa at my house, he has never been a part of our Christmas - and the only way you would get me into Disney land was if I was dead)

I think you guys should put the Nintendo Wii on your Christmas list. Not only is the system fantastic for gamers, but it is also real easy for non-gamers to enjoy. The demographics aren't strict at all! We got one at launch and have been having a blast with it! It'll make you more hip with the times and add something refreshing to your lifestyles!

As for what I want, surprises are good with me. I've never been one to make a list, mostly because if there was something I actually desired or needed, I would most likely get it myself as soon as I found out. I love surprises though, especially creative ones.

I've already done most of my shopping. There are so many nifty gifts I've found for people. I can't wait to give it to them! ^_^

For many years now I have wanted to attend the Martha Pullen School in Huntsville, Alabama but was either working or funds not available.

This year I told my DH this is what I wanted for Christmas. If he would grant this wish I would also consider it as my anniversary (Dec. 8th) present. To my surprise he has already provided me with the funding to attend.

I too pray for world peace daily for our only son is in Iraq and two very dear nephews. So please let us all remember the men and women that are making the ultimate sacrifices this year. I imagine their one wish is to be home with their families.

I can send you some Caribou if you would like

For me I would like just a tiny little bit of warm weather even if it is just an hour. This cold is getting me down.

OH yeah and happy kids and world peace wouldn't hurt either.

My daughters old schoolfriend has been evacuated back this last month with a bullet wound to the thigh - he came home wednesday so is back for Christmas! Yay! He was only in Iraq for two weeks I think -he is 20 in January.

Dexter! Howdi! I have never really got beyond my PS2 - I was very disillusioned with the gameplay on Angel of Darkness (me and Lara - we're like that!) and so haven't played for ages....

This is a good post!

I want a new sewing machine for Christmas, and an embroidery machine for my next birthday. Since I didn't get an anniversary gift this year, I'll take either one as a late gift, lol.

I told my husband we need to have a Christmas wish list posted on the fridge, and he actually agreed. I guess I'll give it a try. My daughter wants the pirate from the movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, the actor, playing the role, not the DVD, LOL. I told her at the current price, she'll be lucky to get the movie. I can't believe how expensive DVDs are. I always buy them when they're a couple of years out, but lately they're just too pricey. Haven't bought one in months.

My husband wants a large screen LCD TV and Home Theatre system, new computer, and a new van. Dream on buddy! He retires in less than a year, we can't afford any big ticket items. Never could, but I guess its fun to dream, for some anyway. I just find it frustrating. lol.

Realistically, I'll ask for some sewing and painting books that I've wanted for years, and I'll likely end up with a couple of older DVD movies. :re: or if the current trend continues, nothing at all.

Oh well...

My Mom is home from the hospital, she had some mini-strokes, and I guess having her still around is all I can ask for right now. I won't be seeing her again though, she's living too far for me to travel and she doesn't travel anymore either. At least we have long distance, so we can talk.

All I want for Christmas is my daughter to get here safe and sound. My mom to start feeling better. And the feet that my husband has already gotten me for Christmas. Boy, I could use a couple of them now. Of course, I had to go to the sewing center to show him what ones to buy. We didn't have a good Christmas last year, so I want a good one this year. Of course, world peace and all out guys and girls to come home.

Emmy, In my opinion the best place to buy DVD's and books by far is Amazon. Even with the shipping charges you can get tremendous deals on "used" items. They're actually brand new very often and as long as you're dealing with a reputable seller you'll do okay. I've bought many, many books and cd's and (knock on wood) have only had good luck. Only once did an item actually get lost in the mail coming to me and the seller didn't hesitate to send me another. The original eventually did arrive and I just refused it.

Check it out. Lennie

I think what I'd really like for Christmas is the promise from my husband that we'll get away for a few days for our anniversary, Jan.10th. :bolt: We almost always do but he's been so incredibly busy that we haven't managed to escape since last April/May.

This isn't purely selfish since he's literally on call 24/7 and absolutely needs a break for his own health and sanity.

I will never wish for world peace and I will tell you why.
(not that you care, but world peace is not what it's cracked up to be..)

There will never be peace in the world as long as there are people who don't respect each other , their religions and way of life. What I DO wish for, is that EVERYONE from their home country, fighting in wars, GO HOME. Let people in their own countries fight amongst themselves. (it weeds out the megalomanics and idiots). Not every country needs to butt into everyone elses politics (U.S. is one BIG culprit in this mess). (I love America, but politicians are idiots.)

What many people don't know, or realize, the U.S. TRAINS many of the pilots and service people from LOTS Of the countries who hate us and wage war against us. I say, let them teach themselves. If they want to hate the U.S., fine, but don't teach them to fight us with our own weapons.

So I wish for peaceful PEOPLE, because the world is to big and messy for anything else...

I would love to have a dumpster parked outside for a few days so I could get rid of some of this clutter my DS is gathering all through my house.. Both boys have always accused me of never throwing anything away, But He is ridiculous ... Saves wine bottles (in case he someday makes some wine) All glass bottles with wide mouths. (for what ????) When I complain, he turns a deaf ear.. Oh how I long for the day when I will have my house to myself again... Oh yes, Newspapers so he can re-read the political stories over again.. Give me Strength , please ! ! ! :bang: :bang: :bang:

Libby...get a glass cutter and cut off all the bottle necks, then use them as vases or places to put kitchen utensils...(I did that once...my parents didn't drink, so I'd get bottles from others and we had drink glasses, vases, etc for a L O N G time..be sure to emery off the cut parts...no glass splinters..) Tell him you need to start a fire in the fireplace and use his newpapers as kindling...:bg: :bg: :bg: :bg: :bg: :bg:

haha. See, you need to play something more simple, like the Wii! I'm going through a fantastic game for the PS2 right now called Tales of the Abyss. The story is so amazing and sad and the characters are all so captivating and develop so well. It's one of those games I can't wait to make progress in so I can find out what happens next and I'm often so easily amazed by what does transpire.

I wouldn't suggest the game to you, though. It's easy for me because I have acquired the taste and methods of playing such games (RPGs) but it isn't easy for most people and the game is much more story-driven whether than game-play driven, although both are done very well.

Well Ladies, It really happened. Dear Son was home overnight this week and completely cleared out his room! He said it looked like I wanted a sewing room since I put my machine and table in there already. Now all I need is a television and I'm ready to begin. Too bad my current project is his hand-quilted, king sized wedding quilt. There's no way my quilt frame will fit in his small bedroom:sad:

Well - Happy Christmas Momquilts! Good for you.

Dexter - have you seen the site of all those damaged people who play with Wii? Stay away from sharp objects! My daughter has tried one out and says that she would prefer a game of tennis outdoors to Wii tennis or any other of it's sporty games. I love the idea though!
Borrowed Lego Star Wars (ages 3+) for the PS2 and can nearly play it. My husband and I were so engrossed in the pod racing we were late for our New Years Eve party.:dave:
