Ok, so the water has broken and my dd is starting to have contractions. Headed up there shortly to try and keep her bf from making her go into the hospital any sooner than she really has to.

Will keep you posted!! :bg: :bg:

Guess I spoke too early! The hospital sent my dd home! She's so disappointed! She stopped leaking and stopped contracting after she got there. They did do an US though, still plenty of fluid but the good news is that the baby is fully engaged now and she wasn't as of Wed-she was still sitting high, also definitely a girl (altho we knew that) as baby was spread eagle-funny girl. Apparently enough room too so shouldn't have to worry about a C-section. Hopefully sometime this weekend we will have a new little one...so frustrating and she was close to tears when they told her to go home and she was trying so hard not to cry. Poor baby.

I promise to keep you all posted! Thanks so much for all your good thoughts and prayers!!

How disappointing! Poor girl!

I didn't know that once your water broke it could stop "leaking". I thought you had to "soldier on" with no turning back after that.

Good luck. I'm sure everyone's on pins and needles now for sure.

Take Care, Lennie

How frustrating for you all. They say though that good things come to those who wait. I bet it was a pregnant woman who thought of that one.

Heres hoping that all the drama and frustration have been spent on the preliminaries and that the rest of labour and birth are quick and easy.

Look forward to hearing the news when it comes (although I'm sure not as much as you). Best wishes to you all.

Awww, she sounds like my SIL who went through the same things for 2 weeks. I hope all goes well and she has that precious bundle of joy soon.

Well it sure wasn't the mother of a 2-year-old!

No pressure -- but you might want to mention people all over the world are waiting here!!

I have Dorothy, I have!! LOL...not to mention the zillion phone calls I have to make. She went grocery shopping with me today just to get out of the house-her boyfriend is driving her crazy with every little twinge! LOL

Well, tomorrow's a full moon-maybe that will help.:bg:

No Jan don't you know that the hospitals are full of babies during the full moon. At least that's the way it goes here in the states. LOL Just like the moon pulls on the tides it also does something to a pregnant.

Lyn be sure to let us know, it's nothing like us to add pressure to your already stressed out mind. The little angel will get here soon and after a week of no sleep your daughter will be ready to put her back in where it came from. Hugs Susie
I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

Lyn - remember that my grandchild was coming first and did indeed come in August. A dear little boy. Went through the same thing. My daughter was so anxious to get it over with I sometimes think she imagined contractions. I could understand as with my first I went not only a week over, but into a different month!! I would sit with her for periods of time monitoring her uterus, and have to tell her they weren't really as strong as she thought. I was a maternity nurse and palpation is often more accurate than all those electronic monitors.
One morning a week late I woke up at 6 am (a miracle in itself) to find her and her husband up and about and her water broken. He is an excitable one and wanted to leave for hospital right away - again I sat and monitored uterus for almost an hour and told her that I thought she was in very early labour and if she went to hospital they would probably send her home. They went anyways and she later told me she said to the admitting nurse "I suppose you're going to send me home" Not for a little while and they weren't busy so she stayed and had a sleep. When she eventually had epidural (about 6 hours later) she delivered in 2 hours!!

I have always said that birth and death are the greatest miracle of life. With all the scientific findings we really do not know the moment each will occur in advance or for that matter how they really really occur. God's joke or blessing? :re:
