I bought this European pattern off of ebay and now I don't understand it:cry: , especially the sizes...what do these sizes mean...please help!
86/92
98/104
110/116
122/128
134/140
How do these relate to other patterns?
How do you add a seam allowance?
Thanks in advance if you can help. :)

My guess would be that these are referring to heights of children in cms.
80cms = 9-12 months
86 = 12-18 momths
92 =18-24 months
98 =2-3 years
104 =3-4 years
110 =4-5 years
116 =5-6 years
122 =6-7 years
128 =7-8 years
134 =8-9 years
140 =9-10 years
These figures taken for girls from the mothercare website.

Hope this helps as a starting place

Just thinking - is Anna like Burda - no seam allowance - so you would need to trace around the pieces and add 5/8 seam allowance - or what ever you want to use.

Thanks so much for your help. Yes, I do need to add a seam allowance. I can't wait to make this dress. Felicia

Felicia

Did you see the topic thread at Banberry on different ways of adding the seam allowances? I think eveything else was covered, but just wanted to make sure you were set on th tracing/seam allowance question.

If you have an Ottobre book they have the same sizing and I took a Burda pattern and compared the sizes and got 56 - newborn, 62 - 3 mon, 68 - 6mon, 74 - 9 mon, 80 - 1yr, 86 - 2yr, 92 - 3 yr. and that's as far as I've gotten as that's as big as I've made. Course you have to compare cm to inches when comparing patterns. So they match up pretty good to Jan's. Thanks Jan for the extra sizes! Now I don't have to keep looking up on patterns and converting!
