I just came across the name of a magazine "Belle Armoire" and have been trying to track down a mailing address. I just don't trust giving my credit card info over the web!
It is an Altered Couture magazine that looks very interesting. It is published by Stampington&co. The web site is

http://www.stampington.com/html/altered_couture.html

I did e-mail them and explained that I wouldn't do it over the net but they referred me back to the site that does the credit card thing. So if one of you kind ladies have a mailing address for them I certainly would appreciate it, and if you have the magazine what you think of it.:nc:

I've never heard of them, but then I don't do fashion mags...

That looks like a pretty cool magazine. I even found a store that sells it somewhat near me. If you don't want to subscribe, check out the section of "Find a store near you carrying Altered Couture"

Woodywoodpecker - I don't know where you live in Alberta but I would be very surprised that you couldn't find Belle Armoire in bookstores of mid size and larger cities. I live in north central BC and there are two stores here that carry it regularly (bimonthly) and either would order it if they didn't already get it. Zellers sells Quilting Arts!! One of our stores is a newsstand which seems small but apparently is one of the larger ones in BC. The sewing and quilting section is right at the front of the store and I never move further so I was surprised when I heard that. The other is a book store to die for - privately owned, huge selection of many things, dark and warm, coffee bar and has become a hangout for the students and artsy ones in town - and a few old birds like me. The owner's wife is a sewer so they have great selection, but he tells me he would be carrying Belle Armoire any way. You could also give Indigo Chapters a call - some stores carry it and some don't - I have purchased in both BC and Ont. I agree it is a great and fun book. I have been buying and reading it for several year. They did a survey recently asking about desires for inclusion. They have a lot of articles on mold-able clay for jewelry and were wondering if every one wanted it. I, personally would not pick up a book just on molding but am intrigued by what I read in Belle Armoire. You can order back copies and they have interesting books you can order from them.
Good luck.

Like Nancy, I pick up Belle Armoire when ever I see a new one in the book store.
I think at least some JoAnne stores carry it too.
It is an art to wear magazine that features some great work and is a wonderful source for ideas.

I did check with Chapters in my local city but they didn't have it, didn't know anything about it and couldn't or wouldn't find it on their system for me. In general not much help at all, which really surprized me as I have dealt with them before and they were really helpful. However I did have an oppourtunity to go to Calgary a few days ago and found the magazine in Chapters there and have ordered it. Thanks to everyone for their help.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all the members.

Looks very interesting, will have to check out the local stores and see if I can find one locally. I was just at Joann's yesterday, but didn't even think about looking for the magazine, had DH trailing along - enough said !!:bolt:
