Came home from work yesterday and DH was grinning and bouncing around. I knew something was up. I started looking around and on the dining room table was a HUGE box, he got me a brand new KitchenAid Artisan Mixer. Its beeuuutiful!! Course this means that he expects me to use it. I can't even fit it into my cupboard so I will have to rearrange my kitchen to get it into the pantry. What a nice surprise. So I have to go shopping for some baking stuff today. I laughed when he said - now we are even-. I don't think so!! It's not quite the same as the motorcycle he bought!! I'm sure enjoying the spoiling he's been doing since he bought the bike though, will have to draw it out as far and long as I can!!!!!

Awww, nice. Is the Artisan the latest model? I haven't seen anything around with that name.

Ah Laura, how terrific! What fun! I've never quite understood the women that say, "Don't you dare get me appliances!". I love appliances. If they're not just flat out fun they certainly can make our days easier.

Better get baking..........

I agree I love appliances. I think I am getting a new kitchen faucet & my bathroom redone for Christmas. I have only been waiting about 15 yrs. for my bathroom.

I have an Artisian kitchen aid also and I love it. I've had mine for about 3 years and my dh is still amazed at how much I use it. He said when he bought it he didnt think I would use it very much.

Artisan is the latest and most colorful.( KitchenAid now comes in something like 35 colors)
I got my first KA in 83...still use it at least once a week.
Have 2 others I use on occasion.
There is nothing like a KitchenAid for making bread dough...
Congrats on the new appliance. I KNOW it will give you many yrs of GREAT service.

Made my first batch of banana muffins, which turned out like pancakes, so I read the instruction book and found out that since the machine is more powerful than the older mixers (mine was my moms, it was an antique, I remember using it in Grade 4 and ending up in the hospital - don't ask!) you don't need to mix for as long. So, next I'll try something out of the book, but i have to go get groceries first.

You should know Laura, in the case of culinary disasters, pretend that was what they were meant to be all along.
Enjoy your new toy.

I got a kitchen aid mixer about 3 years ago. It's one of my favorite gifts hubby ever got me. He's not one for picking out jewelry or clothes, but he can pick out some appliances. I just wish he would wander into the sewing machine stores or quilt shops occasionally.
Enjoy your new toy.
