I am new to this forum. I sewed in Home Ec in school and made a few simple things later but I have not sewn for at least 35 years. Now I have the itch to start again. I am planning to take beginner sewer classes in the new year.  I really enjoy reading all the posts.

Welcome, Sewchick from the southern USA..... You will love this site... I also started sewing in Home Ec in the 8th or 9th grade.. (an eternity ago)... I am 72 now and sew for fun and therapy... I don't ever sew to order for anyone, no matter how good a friend they are, because that makes it like work and I'm retired.. My sewing and crafting is my way of exercising my artistic leanings and if I tried to do it for a business, I would not last 3 minutes... I love the process of choosing fabric, then choosing a pattern, then surprising someone with a finished product.. That is the best feeling ! ! ! You will find any answer here that you need, I guarantee .. These friends on here are the worlds greatest... Mary is the Owner/Editor of this website and she is the best... Again, welcome, you will be glad you found us... Sew With Love

Hello Sewchick and welcome to Sew What's New. I discovered this website almost 5 years ago and it was the best surfing discovery EVER. Like Libby said, you can most likely get an answer to any question, may take a day or so, but if patient, help will be on the way. Welcome again, and remember the only dumb question is the ONE you didn't ask...
