With obesity becoming such a huge problem in today’s society its awesome to see that Lifetime is putting out movies like their new one about a girl who wears a fat suit to school and finds out what it is like on the other side of the scale. At least some TV has maintained its sense of purpose

I wish they would show things like that to kids at school. Maybe even have some of them try it to see how it feels.

Did anyone see the Oprah show a while back where they took a large group of students (and a few adults) and put them in a gym and asked them all kinds of questions. I think Lisa Ling (?) did that show. They asked questions like, "Have you ever been made fun of because of your weight, height, race, sex, etc. ?" or "Have you ever been rediculed in front of others by a teacher, fellow student, friend, parent, etc." or "Have you ever been whistled at, cat called, or been talked to inappropriately by a member of the opposite sex?" Then the ones who would answer yes walked accross a line in the middle of the floor. Alot of the students remaining were the ones who had made fun of them. Before it was over they all knew what it was like to be on the other side of the line and kids who had never been friends before were crying and apologizing to each other.
I would love to see a program like that put into our middle and high schools.
