I'm Debbie a/k/a onebigladybug from MD. I've been receiving the newsletters for a while now. I've retired a year ago and want to start sewing. I have several machines and lots of fabric. I bought my first machine back in 1988 and took a few lessons here and there. My sister who lives in SC was quite the seamtress. But alas too far away to teach me . One thing I'm interested in is making smocked Christmas ornaments. I saw these at a church craft fair several years ago. Does anyone out there know anything about making these? thanks, debbie |

Hi Debbie. Welcome. I've never tried smocking, but I like your approach--start with a nice small project while learning. Here's one to get you started. Smocked Christmas Ornament (http://www.everythingsewing.net/ornament.htm) Stick around.

Hi Debbie, welcome to the gang! I'm not a good resource for smocking for you but I know with all the knowledge around here someone will be along soon if the link Andrea left for you doesn't work out.
