Hi:
I'm making my 1 year old an elastic waist skirt without a pattern. I would like a full skirt. Does anyone know what the width of my material should be? I was thinking 2x her waist measurement.

Thanks for any help.

The standard is usually 2 1/2 times the measurment of something...3 times if you want it very full (this is for a cotton-weight fabric). If your fabric is very light weight and limp like tuille it usually takes more. If your fabric is heavy like denium it can take less. 2 Times is often a little skimpy.
