A few weeks ago I received a package in the mail from a friend who had recently moved to Missouri. She got into selling the "Arbonne" line of beauty products and was trying (unsuccessfully) to recruit me as a distributor by sending me this package of samples.

Dd was over and the three of us were in the kitchen as I'm opening this box. Dd and I are looking through it and we're dividing up the samples. I said, "I'll take all of this anti-aging stuff."

That's when he says it ~ Isn't it too late for that?

 I thought he was joking but when I looked at his face he had such a look of sincerity and yes, innocence.

I gently explained that it's supposed to delay the aging process and repair what damage has been done.

Then dd and I ROTFLOAO.....:bg: Silly man....

Now Jan, how did you know that was my first instinct! I think I did punch him anyway. I don't usually hold back. :bg:

And Pauline, thank you. I have to admit I'd much rather be 37 than 50 but what's a person to do? :nc: You is what you is......

Also, Kevin's probably the main reason I feel okay about myself. He compliments me so often and makes sure I know he loves me like no other. What more can a girl ask?

I'm so very lucky and I hope both of you are too!

Lennie,
He is a keeper then! There are few around like that. My hubby is a good guy about compliments too. I have the opposite problem, I get carded just for lottery tickets and you have to be 18 I think to buy them! I am almost 36!!! So he calls me baby face or baby cakes. :) I get warm fuzzies reading what you wrote about your hubby. That is what Love should be like! :)

ah now Lennie you know that my old boy thinks I am a sexy bucket* - though he has learnt not to call me his little cane toad at the wrong time of the month.

* that is - one who has bucket loads of sex appeal

Assuming a cane toad is some kind of poisonous, nasty, thing, I think it still sounds "cuter" than being called a "bucket". :bg:

Never heard of either term. :dave:

 Lennie....You're right.....husbands, you gotta love them!

My husband came out of anesthesia yesterday singing Johnny Cash. Now, I need to back up a minute to explain that my husband does not like CW music. When we had our roof replaced, he even wrote into the contract that the workers were NOT to play cW music while they were roofing. As a result, our kids never played CW music while growing up.

Now, my husband is there belting out Folsom Prison Blues.........dear god, where did he learn the lyrics and the melody?

I am there by his side saying, "Honey, use your quiet voice....Honey, just close your eyes and go to sleep."

My husband must be a closet CW singer. I wrote my kids and told them this amazing new discovery about their father and they are enjoying this little secret. Personally, I liked Johnny Cash.

However, if my sweetie ever told me my sweet little smile lines were over wrinklie.......he would know to stand back or run or else get beyotch slapped!

Now Jan....is that variety of toad in the horned family?

Jan, I think they look like a very happy couple. They're not ugly. It's all in the eye of the beholder. Maybe Tony likes toads.......:bluewink:

And Patty, that is a great story. Reminds me of the syndrome where people come out of tramatic injuries and suddenly they have a foreign accent.

I bet he secretly likes country music but is still in the "closet" about it since it's not "cool" enough. How else would he know all the words???? :whacky:

How very strange.

I think it was the way I was feeling large (I am about the same size now but feel fine about it) and pre-menstrual, and nothing fit anymore and he squelged my stomach around and moulded it into strange shapes and called me his cuddly cane toad - we had been to a zoo the day before and saw this HUGE toad squished up against the side of the glass. He was unprepared for me bursting into tears....he thought he was being affectionate...

Now. I like frogs, I think they are cute, big fat toads are just ugly.

Sex appeal by the bucket I can cope with.

Patty, that is weird - he must have walked the line. I take it his name is not Sue?

I totally see your point, Jan, now that you explain it.

At those hormonal times WE don't even understand our emotions. How can they???

Poor Kevin, he's got a pregnant secretary. (Funny, he's had three secretaries and five pregnancies between them. Hmmmmmm) He's also got four females out of the six people on the ambulance crews. He swears all the women are on the same cycle.

Luckily he's familiar with the whole female package having grown up with eight sisters! :re:
