Now I know why and just why you are all so special to me. Here's a wonderful story about the Canadians who helped the parish I'm from after Hurricane Katrina. The nightmare we will never forget but they came here and helped us and will never be forgotten.   :Canada:

This website is the St Bernard Parish offical website.

I'm regressing back into my youth, I just have to figure out how I'm going to convience my body to come along with me.

that's so nice!! My husband was on one of the ships that was stationed to Biloxi for a few weeks post Katrina, he said the devastation there was terrible but was not near New Orleans.

Jeanette,

When I read that story I thought of all my friends on here. Our own government didn't respond fast but they came all the way from Canada to help us out. If you read the whole story they were actually slipped in without getting legal permission but they were really welcomed by our parish. I stood in horror watching CNN those first few days hearing all kinds of horror stories about people shooting choppers out the sky and men storming the police station and killing police. But you never heard on any of those stations what was happening good down there until now. We are just starting to get some of the hero stories.

A Big Thank You Canada from ME!!!

That's a nice story Susie. My in-laws used to live in St. Bernard.
