This is my son's quilt so far....still need to add borders to it. Moda fabric came out with an eagle bunting fabric that I couldn't resist as I was going to applique an eagle in the center. I thought this was more reminiscent of antique patriotic quilts that had printed fabric supporting political parties.

ps. If you advance to the next picture it gives a detail of the different scraps (yes those are oranges and purples in there) and how I modified the bunting to fit.

Patty your quilt is gorgeous, I especially love all the hst's, my absolute favorites. I also love the other print in the centers of some of the blocks, what exactly is the print? Is your pattern original? It sort of reminds me of a pattern called corn and beans, but I don't know for sure. I DO think it is wonderful though!!

Debby....the block pattern is called Ocean waves and mine is made with 2" finished HRT's. The other print that you like is

http://www.baumtextile.com/cgi-bin/fabricshop/gallery.cgi?func=show&file=3&Category=220&Page=1&v=1

Old Glory II c. 1840

Windham/Baum make the most wonderful reproduction fabrics and they are so soft and have a wonderful hand. They are WONDERFUL! I had purchased mine at Hancock (yes, Hancock and it was not a seconds or lesser quality greige good.)

Some of the other fabric lines in the quilt were the Rising Sun (RJR Smithsonian print from early 90's) and Libertyville (Moda) and lots of patriotic prints that I collected over the years. If you look at the quilt by my signature, you will see where some of those scrap HRT's went......yep, right into this quilt.

Thanks everyone. I enjoy what I'm doing.

My husband is always relieved to see me sewing because he knows that I can't pick up a needle and thread when I'm sad or something is bothering me.

This weekend is the big sale at the LQS and I am working at it. I can hardly wait!
