Hi everyone, I just signed up for the first time this week. I'm sorry for asking, but I just thought I'd ask if you could show me any notable posts that I should have a read of first, so I can get up to speed here? Thanks in advance, Mike |

It really depends on your interests Mike. It took me a couple of weeks to "get up to speed". A lot of what I was catching up on was gossip and just going back through old posts to see what interested me. I'd just jump in and offer your two cents worth wherever you care to or have something to offer, laugh secretly to yourself about us all and go back through the older posts when we're having a particularly boring day. Other than that Mary has a post on guidelines for posting which she'd probably like you to look at. Hey guys am I missing something here? I know we all think our threads are the most riveting but there isn't anything unmissable - is there?

Hi Mike, Pauline is right, it really depends on your interests. When I first joined SWN 3 years ago I was a total newbie (my profile was e-zabelle back then and I remember asking about sewing a dress by hand, as I didn't have a machine)... What I did was to use the search feature extensively everytime I had a question or doubt. You can't imagine the wealth of info you'll get just by using that search tool. I learned lots and wouldn't be where I am now if it hadn't been for Sew What's New!

Welcome, Mike! You'll find tons of info on here, depending on your needs. Just use the search feature, as suggested above, or visit discussion boards that you think apply to your area of interest, and go from there. Everyone here is really nice and very helpful if you post a question on the boards. Just sit back, cruise around the site a bit, and then post when you need to (or want to)! See you around! Bev.
