Barb, how exciting and sweet. I have younger identical twin brothers. My Mom dressed them the same till they were about 6 or so. They were very cute and got a lot of attention. Was I jealous? :bang:

I don't know of many people who dress their twins the same anymore. I wouldn't but you sure are going to have fun making girlie things for them. It's definitely more fun to sew and create for girls!

She said they don't want identical items, similar is OK but they want to make sure they let each one grow into their own person. I am working on pink for her freinds baby shower on Sat. then I can start sunsuits & dresses with ruffles. I will have to make DGSs some things too so they don't get jealous. DH & I bought some jeans just after we found out so will need some pink Tees to go with them.

Besides pink.....lavender, pale yellow, light green, light blue -- the sky is the limit for girls colors....tougher for boys. When my oldest niece was born, everyone bought pink. When her cousin, my other niece came along, we switch (at her mom's insistence) to lavender/lilac color. Then we could buy same/similar items but in different colors. Keep in mind they weren't siblings. When my DD was born, I inherited pink & lavender and LOTS of it! My DD's favorite color right now is purple, but that's only the past 6 months. Prior to that she liked blue.

You can make still make identical outfits, just different colors. And if they have brothers, then make some items with matching shirts for the boys. Lots of them (ideas) to choose from for this too! my Mom buys her three GDs matching outfits (PJ's) every year, just in different colors. The girls love it, but it is getting hard to do as they get older.

Anyway, enjoy!
Peggy

She said they were leaning towards ending it now. She just couldn't handle all the people congratulating her when she knows that the baby won't live. She & her husband are going to be tested to make sure that it isn't something genetic that caused it.

Peggy, for some reason my oldest had a lot of red. She also had pinks. When my second was born she got yellows & mint greens, the 3rd got lavender & yellow. Boys got construction clothes. & youngest went back to reds & a lot of black/white dots & stripes. I never really thought about it before now they all did have some pink too but I don't think that was the main color for any of them but they all had frills!!

Good move for the couple. I agree with both of those decisions.

I'm sure your daughter and SO can lend loving support and hopefully not feel any guilt.

What an exciting time for your family! Twins are fun in so many respects. How they relate to one another is very interesting.

Twins! How very cool. Hope the mom-to-be starts now on resting up since she will be quite busy when they arrive.
When my niece was born I made sure not to buy her pink (I got her black and yellow). I heard my sil whisper to my brother, "thank goodness she got a few things besides pink" after her baby shower.
Pink is not my sil's favorite color.
