I am trying to make small back pack sort of bag to carry just a pair of runners and a bottle of water for when I go exercising.

I have seen one that I really like and have a picture of it..363kb. But the forum's size for uploading pics .jpg is 1 byte which is pretty small. Is this kilobyte or megabyte?

anyone got any ideas how I can get my pic uploaded?
else I can pm someone and we can do it that way.

the bag I have in mind has a zipper all around for the opening as opposed to draw string closing at top.

any takers?
thanks

You can use a free image hosting website, such as www.photobucket.com to upload your pictures, then post the picture here either as a link or using image tags (if you want the picture to show up directly in your post). Feel free to message me if you have trouble!

Don't know if these would be what you want, but here are a few links to free backpack patterns. Maybe there's something that will work for you. Good Luck.

Judy,
thanks for those urls...I have seen those and it is not what I want.

Kaitlinnegan
yes, thankyou so much...
I could use some guidance....when I click attach and go to load my pic it says it is too large...but the only options are 1byte.

my pic is .jpg 264. I have tried to make it a thumbnail but then when enlarged it is too blurry.

maybe if others can see a picture they can direct me to a site where a pattern may be found.

I wasn't able to find any free patterns but here is a Lazy Girl Design that I think is similar to what you want...

Look at Chelsea (http://www.lazygirldesigns.com/bags.php)

Here is a few I have on file that may be useful - if not for you, perhaps for others. There is also a discussion form that people submit their own patterns and one has oodles of purses. I can't find it right now, but will post it if I can find it. Good Luck

Here it is purse and bag makers - more patterns and tutorials than you will ever be able to make!! Warning - I find the site a bit slow and many of the pictures quite large but HUGE number of patterns.

Good site Nancy - you're right it is a bit slow - but worth taking the time at.

It looks like an upside down U shape, so why not just draft a pattern yourself? Find another pattern for the strap spacings etc, but alter the shape and add the pocket. Treat the zips as separate "bags" for the lining, so that way you will get the two pocket areas.
One of the easiest ways of thinking about bags is that they are really just two cushion covers sewn together to form the outside and the lining. The trick is to leave the side seam partially open to turn it all right side out at the end.
Cheers, Soph.

thanks to all for your great suggestions and url leads.

Sophie...I have created my own pattern but just not sure it will work. Was looking for a pattern already done..but not to be had.
Guess I will make a test bag out of cloth before I tackle the leather one.
thanks all
